POSITION TITLE
Technical Theater Director
REPORTS TO
Arts and Wellness Chair and Performing Arts Subject Lead
PURPOSE OF POSITION
Works closely with Performing Arts Department and school administration to plan, organize, operate, and maintain equipment used to amplify, record and display sound and images at Performing Arts and large community events, including but not limited to, Fall Drama, Freshman Spotlight (1 Take) Spring Musical, Spring Showcase, Masses, etc. Lead a Student Technical Support Club (Blackout Brigade), which meets after school Tuesdays and Thursdays

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES
Set up, operate, maintain, and repair equipment used to enhance live events, such as microphones, video recorders, projectors, lighting, and sound mixing equipment. Record shows and presentations with video cameras, operate spotlights, adjust amplifiers, and coordinate graphics used in displays. Create and lead a student Technical Support Club which will meet twice a week and will provide audio/visual support for ASB events, school Masses, assemblies, and other school events Coordinates and acts as Lighting Designer, AV Technician, Sound Engineer, and Technical Consultant at all PHS Performing Arts shows. Assist with set designs and construction of sets Will teach up to two classes in technical and design theater.
QUALIFICATIONS
B.A. Degree in audio visual technology or related field, preferred. Proficient in the following lighting and sound programs: Q Labs, SQ Mix Pad, Wireless Workbench, Dante, EOS-ETC Lighting Console. Must be able to transport, assemble, maintain, and repair equipment used in multimedia production. Knowledge of camera and lighting techniques is essential, and familiarity with editing equipment and software may be required. Must be creative and flexible with strong communication skills and the ability to interact with coworkers and clients, often under deadline pressure. In addition to being proficient with computer systems used in multimedia production, the technician is required to have knowledge of and comfort in use of Outlook, Microsoft Word, PowerPoint and Excel.
