Job Summary Reporting to and under the general supervision of the CPA Operations Manager and with additional lead work direction from the Performing Arts Technicians IIs, the Performing Arts Technician I provides stage, set, and lighting production support to both University and off-campus performing arts venues. Work is performed independently from written specifications or instructions with limited technical direction, except for more complex aspects of work. Key Qualifications This position requires one to two years of professional experience working for a theater, repertory, or stock company engaged in the applicable production specialty such as stage and set construction & rigging, lighting production, and/or sound/audio production. This background normally would be achieved through professional training or applicable college coursework and practical experience. Proficiency with computers and Microsoft Office (Word, Excel) required. Knowledge of Google Suite, Zoom, and PeopleSoft preferred. The incumbent must successfully complete a pre-placement exam. Salary and Benefits This is a part time, temporary, non-exempt position. The CSU Classification Step Range for this position is $21.47 - $31.27 an hour (step 1 - step 20). Step placement will be determined based on relevant qualifications and professional experience. Step placement upon appointment is not expected to exceed Step 8 ($24.66). Reappointment to this position is dependent upon the individual's performance as well as administrative and budgetary considerations. The university reserves the right to terminate this appointment earlier than the scheduled expiration date. Supplemental Information
