$23.00-$28.00 per hour, based on experience and demonstrated troubleshooting ability Illuminations LED Lighting & Electric is looking for an experienced and dependable Landscape Lighting Service & Maintenance Technician to join our South Florida team. This position is primarily focused on the service, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of existing landscape and exterior lighting systems , including both 12-volt low-voltage systems and 120-volt line-voltage systems . Many of the residential lighting systems we service are 12-volt, while many community, HOA, condominium, commercial, and older residential systems operate at 120 volts. The technician must be comfortable troubleshooting and maintaining both types of systems. We are looking for someone who can be assigned a service call or maintenance visit, evaluate the existing system, identify the actual cause of the problem, determine what is required to correct it, and complete repairs efficiently and professionally. This is not simply an installation or parts-replacement position . The right candidate must be able to troubleshoot independently, understand how an existing system is wired and controlled, and determine why it is not operating correctly without requiring constant field supervision. Our customers include residential communities, HOAs, condominiums, country clubs, commercial properties, builders, property managers, and private residences throughout South Florida. This is a customer-facing position, so professional communication and appearance are important.
CORE RESPONSIBILITIES
Troubleshoot and repair existing 12-volt low-voltage and 120-volt line-voltage landscape and exterior lighting systems . Independently diagnose lighting outages and system problems rather than simply replacing parts. Identify failed fixtures, lamps, wiring, connections, transformers, breakers, photocells, timers, controls, and other system components. Trace existing circuits and wiring to determine how fixtures, controls, transformers, breakers, junctions, and underground wiring are connected. Use electrical meters and troubleshooting equipment to test voltage, continuity, power sources, and system operation. Locate and repair damaged or cut underground low-voltage cable and identify problems with existing line-voltage underground wiring. Replace LED lamps, integrated LED fixtures, floodlights, bullet lights, sockets, fixture components, and related lighting equipment. Make proper electrical connections appropriate for the system and location. Replace deteriorated fixture stakes and reposition fixtures as needed. Troubleshoot, replace, program, and adjust transformers, photocells, WiFi switches, digital and mechanical time clocks, and in-wall timers . Clean fixture lenses and remove dirt, debris, insects, and moisture when necessary. Adjust fixture positioning and aiming as required during normal service and maintenance work. Install and bury low-voltage cable neatly while minimizing disturbance to grass, landscaping, irrigation, and customer property. Identify additional materials and repairs required when work cannot be completed during the initial visit. Test completed repairs and verify proper operation before leaving the property. Communicate directly and professionally with homeowners, property managers, community representatives, and other customers regarding service issues, findings, and completed work when appropriate. Accurately log each repair task performed, materials used, labor time spent, problems found, and any additional work required. Take clear photographs of existing conditions, repairs, completed work, and items requiring follow-up when needed. Provide clear written notes describing troubleshooting performed, findings, repairs completed, and recommended follow-up work. Use Dropbox and other company digital systems to access work information, upload photographs, save files, and provide service documentation to the office. Maintain company vehicles, tools, equipment, and materials in a clean and organized condition.
TROUBLESHOOTING & DIAGNOSTIC ABILITY A
major part of this position is being able to diagnose problems independently in the field . The technician should be able to arrive at a property, review the reported issue, inspect the system, trace the applicable wiring and controls, test the necessary components, and determine why the system is not operating correctly. The technician should be comfortable determining: Whether an outage is caused by a fixture, lamp, socket, connection, wire, transformer, control, breaker, or power source. Whether the affected system is 12-volt low voltage or 120-volt line voltage. Where an affected circuit originates and what controls it. Where power or voltage is being lost. Whether underground wiring has been damaged. Whether a transformer is overloaded, malfunctioning, or not receiving power. Whether a photocell, WiFi switch, mechanical time clock, digital time clock, or in-wall timer is operating correctly. Whether a breaker or upstream electrical issue is contributing to the problem. Whether the repair can be completed during the current visit. What materials and labor will be required if additional work is needed. We value technicians who identify the cause of a problem instead of guessing or repeatedly replacing parts .

Treat customer homes, landscaping, buildings, vehicles, irrigation systems, and other property carefully. Maintain a respectful and professional attitude while representing the company. Communicate clearly with the office regarding job status, findings, completed repairs, materials needed, and follow-up work.

Clear photographs when applicable. Notes needed for future service, proposals, or follow-up work.
