A Lighting Technician sets up, maintains, and dismantles light fixtures, lighting control devices, and the associated lighting electrical and rigging equipment used for photography, television, film, video, and live productions. May focus or operate light fixtures, attach color filters or other lighting accessories.

THE ROLE
This is a senior, client-facing position for someone who can independently develop architectural lighting concepts, translate them into detailed plans, and guide projects through the full design and specification process. The ideal candidate understands how lighting supports architecture, materials, atmosphere, and visual comfort. They should be equally comfortable reviewing architectural drawings, working in AutoCAD, specifying fixtures, presenting to clients, and coordinating the technical details required to move a project forward.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Lead architectural lighting projects from concept through final documentation Review architectural, interior design, furniture, millwork, and reflected ceiling plans Develop lighting layouts for high-end residential, hospitality, and commercial projects Integrate lighting designs into existing AutoCAD plans Select appropriate fixtures, optics, outputs, color temperatures, finishes, drivers, and controls Prepare and review lighting plans, fixture schedules, specification packages, and supporting documentation Present lighting concepts and recommendations to architects, interior designers, contractors, and clients Coordinate project revisions, client comments, and technical requirements Review project quantities and ensure consistency between drawings, specifications, and quotations Collaborate closely with Apure's sales, technical, project management, and inside sales teams Establish and maintain design standards, drawing conventions, and quality-control procedures Support and guide junior designers or CAD production staff Manage multiple active projects while maintaining accuracy, organization, and timely communication
QUALIFICATIONS
Five or more years of professional architectural lighting design experience Strong proficiency in AutoCAD Experience producing complete architectural lighting plans and specification packages Strong understanding of beam distribution, fixture placement, visual comfort, color temperature, dimming, and lighting controls Ability to read and interpret architectural drawings, elevations, sections, millwork, and reflected ceiling plans Experience working directly with architects, interior designers, contractors, and high-end clients Strong presentation and client communication skills Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail Ability to manage projects independently and make informed design decisions Professional portfolio demonstrating relevant architectural lighting work
PREFERRED EXPERIENCE
High-end residential, hospitality, or luxury commercial lighting design AutoCAD, Adobe InDesign, or comparable software Lighting calculations and photometric analysis Fixture specification and quotation coordination Experience managing or mentoring junior design staff Familiarity with remote drivers, architectural lighting controls, and custom ceiling conditions
