Gaffer / Lighting Technician — NPFX Studios Position Overview NPFX Studios is seeking a skilled Gaffer / Lighting Technician to collaborate on commercial, branded, social media, and creative video productions. The ideal candidate understands how lighting shapes storytelling and can help create professional cinematic visuals through creative lighting techniques, equipment knowledge, and collaboration with the camera department. Responsibilities Design and execute lighting setups based on the creative vision of each project. Collaborate with directors, cinematographers, and camera operators. Set up, operate, and safely manage lighting equipment. Create professional lighting for interviews, commercials, events, and branded content. Assist with evaluating locations and determining lighting needs. Maintain organization and safety on set. Help achieve consistent visual quality across productions. Required Qualifications Experience with professional lighting setups.
Understanding of:
Key, fill, and back lighting Color temperature Light shaping Modifiers Practical lighting On-set safety Ability to collaborate and take creative direction. Reliable and professional on set.
Preferred Experience Experience with:
Commercial productions Interviews Narrative filmmaking Corporate content Events Studio lighting Experience with owned equipment is preferred but not required.
Compensation Freelance/project-based compensation:
