Job Description

The student technical assistants will assist the Instructor of Theatre. These students serve a vital role to the success of the theatre and are integral to enabling the Theatre to host additional events for Sauce, the CEO, and other programs on campus. Assist in setting up and positioning risers, equipment and stands, microphones, backdrops and projection screens Assist in the construction and dismantling of stage sets using power and hand tools. Assist during installs of lighting equipment by following directions on lighting plot and focusing Runs lighting and soundboards for small events. Loads and unloads equipment and props from trucks. Assist in maintaining costumes including laundering, ironing and pressing of clothing. Sweeps and mops floor. Maintain a positive work atmosphere by acting and communicating in a manner to foster teamwork Must have taken one class in technical theatre Skill in the use of a sewing machine Skill in the use of hand tools and power tools Ability to program a light board, read lighting plots, and set lights for a performance Skill in both verbal and written communication Must be able to commit to 5-10 Hours per week Must be able to lift 40 Pounds Comfortable going up and down ladders. Strong customer service skills and interpersonal skills Reliable, punctual, efficient, and eager to learn
