Outdoor Lighting & Holiday Lighting Technician LIT Outdoor Lighting Location:
Covington, LA (Serving the Northshore & Southeast Louisiana)

$17.00-$25.00/hour (Pay is based on experience, qualifications, and relevant skills. Candidates with experience in holiday lighting, roof work, operating lifts, or related trades may qualify for higher starting pay.) About LIT Outdoor Lighting LIT Outdoor Lighting is a 2-time Best of St. Tammany Award Winner and one of Louisiana's premier outdoor lighting companies, specializing in luxury landscape lighting, architectural lighting, commercial lighting, holiday lighting, and outdoor audio systems. Our team creates some of the region's most impressive lighting displays, including helping install and maintain the lighting for City Park's Celebration in the Oaks. We're looking for hardworking individuals who enjoy working outdoors, aren't afraid of heights, and take pride in producing high-quality work. No prior outdoor lighting experience is required. We're willing to train the right person. Position Summary This position is centered around professional holiday lighting installation, with additional responsibilities assisting in landscape lighting installations and maintenance throughout the year. Each workday begins at our Covington shop, where you'll meet your crew before riding in a LIT company work truck with another technician and a Lead Technician to the day's job sites. All tools, equipment, safety gear, work vehicles, and materials are provided by LIT Outdoor Lighting. You'll work alongside experienced technicians while receiving hands-on training and developing the skills needed to build a long-term career with our growing company. Primary Responsibilities Holiday & Christmas Lighting (Primary Focus) Install professional Christmas lighting displays on residential and commercial properties. Safely work on roofs, ladders, and elevated surfaces while following all company safety procedures. Install roofline lighting, wreaths, garland, tree wraps, landscape holiday lighting, and custom seasonal décor. Assist with the installation, maintenance, and seasonal removal of lighting displays for City Park's Celebration in the Oaks. Work with boom lifts, scissor lifts, extension ladders, and other equipment (training provided). Safely remove holiday lighting and decorations at the end of the season while protecting customer property. Participate in seasonal overtime as project demands require. Landscape Lighting & Outdoor Services Install luxury low-voltage landscape lighting systems. Dig trenches, bury wire, install fixtures, transformers, smart controls, and outdoor audio equipment. Perform maintenance on existing customer lighting systems, including fixture adjustments, lamp replacements, wire repairs, troubleshooting, and system upgrades (training provided). Continue learning advanced installation and service techniques throughout the year. General Responsibilities Report to the Covington shop on time each workday. Maintain clean, organized work trucks and job sites. Follow all company safety policies and installation standards. Treat every customer's home and business with professionalism and respect. Work efficiently as part of a team while maintaining a positive attitude. Represent LIT Outdoor Lighting with integrity, professionalism, and exceptional customer service. Desired Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent. Valid driver's license with a clean driving record. Reliable transportation to and from our Covington shop. Comfortable working outdoors in Louisiana weather. Comfortable climbing ladders and working on residential and commercial roofs. Ability to lift 75+ pounds repeatedly. Comfortable performing physically demanding work throughout the day. Strong work ethic and willingness to learn. The following experience is a plus and may qualify for higher starting pay: Professional Christmas or holiday lighting installation. Roofing or construction experience. Landscape lighting experience. Experience operating boom lifts or scissor lifts. Electrical, irrigation, landscaping, or other outdoor construction experience. Trailer towing experience. Able to work efficiently without sacrificing quality. Compensation & Benefits Starting pay ranges from $17.00-$25.00/hour based on experience and qualifications. Candidates with experience in holiday lighting, roof work, operating lifts, construction, or related trades may qualify for higher starting pay. 30-day performance review with the opportunity for a wage increase based on performance. Frequent overtime opportunities during the holiday lighting season, including work on City Park's Celebration in the Oaks, paid at 1.5x your hourly rate. Paid training. Company-provided tools, safety equipment, work vehicles, uniforms, and all necessary materials.
