Job Description

Cranberry Hill Lighting is seeking a detail-oriented Bench Technician to join our lighting repair team. You will be responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and restoring a wide variety of lighting fixtures, ranging from modern LED units to delicate antique lamps. The ideal candidate enjoys "fixing things" and has a deep respect for historical integrity and customer safety. We are looking for a full time applicant who appreciates a creative atmosphere and a new challenge every day. Open 9-5 Tuesday through Saturday. We encourage Military Veterans, Retired Electricians, Technical School Students and tradespersons.
Key Responsibilities Diagnosis & Troubleshooting:
Use multimeters and other diagnostic tools to identify short circuits, faulty switches, or failed LED drivers.
Rewiring & Restoration:
Perform full rewiring of portable lamps and hard wired fixtures, including the replacement of sockets, cords, and internal wiring.
Precision Work:
Execute delicate repairs using soldering irons for circuit boards and various hand tools for mechanical assembly.
Safety Compliance:
Ensure all repairs meet modern safety standards (e.g., UL standards) to prevent fire or electrical shock.
Customer Interaction:
Consult with clients to provide repair estimates and explain technical issues in simple terms.
Required Skills & Experience Technical Proficiency:
Strong understanding of basic electrical theory and component identification (sockets, ballasts, drivers).
Hand Skills:
Proven experience with soldering and the safe use of hand and power tools. Attention to
Detail:
Ability to handle fragile materials like crystal, porcelain, and aged brass without damage.
Problem Solving:
A methodical approach to fixing unique "one-off" issues common in antique restoration. Ability to meet deadlines while handling and prioritizing simultaneous requests Self-directed, self-reliant and flexible in an evolving environment Preferred Qualifications 2+ years of experience in electronics repair, lamp restoration, or a related field. Completion of a vocational program or technical certification in Electronics or Electrical Technology a plus but not required.

Knowledge of different historical periods and corresponding lighting styles for authentic restoration.
Pay:
$18.00 - $22.00 per hour
