POSITION SUMMARY
The Graphic Technical Coordinator (GTC) / Inplant Manager is responsible for managing technical ink support operations within customer facilities to ensure printing efficiency, color consistency, product quality, and overall customer satisfaction. This role serves as the primary liaison between Flint Group and the customer by providing technical expertise, managing ink systems and inventories, supporting press performance, and leading continuous improvement initiatives while maintaining compliance with safety and environmental standards.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
  • Provide technical support for customer print quality, press efficiency, and ink-related concerns, including participation in customer meetings and after-hours support as needed
  • Train customer personnel and supervise Flint Group employees on ink management, color control, and press performance standards
  • Coordinate ink deliveries, inventory management, scheduling, and production support to meet customer operational requirements
  • Manage color matching, customer formulation files, quality standards, and qualification processes
  • Maintain inventory controls, work-off ink programs, and plans to minimize press returns, obsolete materials, and waste
  • Establish and monitor housekeeping, safety, and workplace organization standards within customer locations
  • Coordinate work assignments for GTC personnel and provide input on employee performance, development, and disciplinary actions
  • Support VOC compliance programs, reporting requirements, and operational recordkeeping activities
  • Perform Graphic Technician duties and support continuous improvement initiatives, process enhancements, and additional responsibilities as assigned by management
WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR
  • High school diploma or equivalent required; Associate degree or technical certification preferred
  • Previous experience in printing, ink manufacturing, color management, or related production environment preferred
  • Strong understanding of printing press operations, ink systems, and color matching principles
  • Leadership and supervisory experience preferred
  • Strong communication and customer relationship management skills
  • Ability to work independently in a fast-paced production environment
  • Strong problem-solving, organizational, and decision-making skills
  • Basic computer proficiency and documentation skills
  • Commitment to safety, quality, and continuous improvement standards
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
  • Ability to stand and walk for extended periods of time
  • Ability to lift and move materials, typically up to 50 lbs
  • Ability to work in manufacturing and customer production environments
  • Ability to respond to customer production needs in a timely manner
