Assistant Media Technician Needed

Location:

Champlain Valley Union High School

Champlain Valley Union High School (CVU) is seeking a part-time Assistant Media Technician to join our team. This multifaceted role supports the Theater Coordinator and Media Integrationist with after-hours and weekend events in the CVU Theater and other school event spaces. We are seeking a dedicated individual to ensure a professional, safe, and high-quality environment for our students and staff.

Primary Responsibilities

Set up and operate audio-visual equipment for school performances, assemblies, and events, ensuring seamless transitions and high-quality presentations.

Provide technical support for lighting, sound, and video systems during live performances, presentations, and broadcasts.

Manage equipment and materials inventory, ensuring all tools are properly maintained, updated, and ready for use.

Support and strictly enforce safety protocols for stage operations and equipment use.

The Ideal Candidate Will Possess

Proven knowledge of digital sound and lighting systems, including experience with Crestron smart systems.

Ability to coordinate logistics and timelines to ensure the successful execution of complex school events.

Ability to work cooperatively and interact respectfully with students, staff, and outside organizations.

Ability to lift and move equipment (up to 40 lbs) and the capacity to stand or walk for extended periods.

Must have the ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends, to support live performances and events.

This is a part-time stipend position based on qualifications and experience. The position is a "category I activity" on our co-curricular contract and the compensation is based on the Collective Bargaining Agreement. More information about CVSD can be found on our district website.
