Job Description

Audio, Lighting, & Video Technicians Dark Star Productions is hiring Audio, Lighting, & Video technicians. Dark Star has been in operation from its facility in Hinesburg, Vermont, for over 25 years. We are looking for both fulltime staff members and production technicians that are interested in the latest technology in the entertainment industry. Live event production experience is required. If you have experience in the entertainment industry in any of these areas and are interested in joining a small team of dedicated professionals, please contact us.
Audio Technician Skills:
  • Understanding of signal path in a medium to large format concert sound system
  • Basic audio troubleshooting skills
  • Knowledge of Avid, Digico, Midas, and/or Yamaha Digital Consoles
  • Experience with setup or design of line array systems would be a plus
  • Ability to coordinate with other staff members in a professional manner
Lighting Technician Skills:
  • Understanding and comprehension of plot/layout diagram
  • System troubleshooting skills
  • Familiarity with both conventional and automated lighting
  • Ability to program and focus
  • Knowledge of ETC Ion, HES Hog, GrandMA, as well as other consoles is helpful
  • Power distribution experience a plus
  • Ability to lead both skilled and unskilled labor crews in setup and strike
  • Ability to coordinate with other staff members in a professional manner
Video Technician Skills:
  • Knowledge of signal paths and standard video systems
  • Setup of projection and monitor systems
  • Video panel system understanding a plus
  • System troubleshooting skills
