Needed Location:
Champlain Valley Union High School This position will remain open until filled. However, applications received within the first seven days of posting will receive priority consideration. Champlain Valley Union High School (CVU) is seeking a welcoming, knowledgeable, and dedicated professional to supervise our Fitness Center. We are looking for an individual who can foster a safe, supportive, and engaging environment while guiding students, staff, and community members in physical wellness. This is a part-time, Category IV stipend position. The Fall season runs from August 26 through November 29 (excluding school vacations and holidays). The required schedule is Monday through Friday, from 3:30 PM to 5:30 PM. Primary Responsibilities Welcome CVU students, staff, and community members into the Fitness Center, cultivating a positive and safe atmosphere. Ensure all patrons are properly instructed in the safe and proper operation of equipment. Provide individualized or group equipment training and offer a variety of fitness programs to interested patrons. Maintain equipment according to established cleaning, sanitization, and safety protocols. Promptly report any equipment maintenance or facility issues to appropriate school personnel. Ensure all safety, educational, and school district protocols are followed at all times. The Ideal Candidate Will Possess Strong knowledge of fitness equipment safety, proper form, and personal training concepts. Excellent communication, interpersonal, and supervision skills, with the ability to interface effectively with high school students, staff, and community members. Preferred Certifications/Credentials:
Certified Instructor through ACSM, NSCA, AFAA, or ACE Licensed Teacher or Certified Coach Valid CPR/AED Certification (or willingness to complete prior to start date).
