This position is responsible for preparing accurate, competitive, and timely quotations for commercial lighting and electrical controls projects while serving as a technical resource throughout the project lifecycle. This role supports projects from the initial bid phase through shop drawings, equipment release, installation, startup, and project completion. The ideal candidate possesses extensive knowledge of commercial lighting control systems, electrical construction documents, and the commercial bidding process. This individual thrives in a fast-paced environment, manages multiple deadlines, and collaborates closely with sales, project management, drafting, contractors, manufacturers, and field technicians to ensure successful project execution. Key Responsibilities Review electrical drawings, lighting control plans, specifications, schedules, addenda, and related construction documents to determine project requirements. Prepare accurate, competitive, and timely quotations for commercial lighting and electrical controls projects. Perform quantity takeoffs and identify required controls equipment and system components. Obtain manufacturer pricing, product availability, and lead times to develop complete project quotations. Review project documents for specification conflicts, scope gaps, substitutions, and value engineering opportunities. Prepare quotation revisions in response to addenda, scope changes, and customer requests. Coordinate with outside sales, project managers, manufacturers, and electrical contractors throughout the bidding process. Maintain accurate quotation documentation and project records. Manage multiple projects simultaneously while consistently meeting bid deadlines. Assist drafting personnel by answering technical questions and reviewing shop drawings for accuracy and compliance with project requirements. Provide technical support to electrical contractors before and after equipment release, assisting with installation questions and project coordination. Support field startup technicians by answering technical questions and assisting with troubleshooting during project commissioning. Serve as the technical resource for complex controls projects and provide guidance to internal team members as needed. Maintain current knowledge of represented manufacturers, lighting control technologies, applicable codes, and industry best practices. Qualifications 6+ years of experience in electrical controls quotations, estimating, lighting controls, electrical distribution, electrical construction, or a closely related field preferred. Proficient in Oasis quotation software. Proficient in Bluebeam Revu. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Strong organizational and time-management skills with the ability to prioritize multiple projects and deadlines. Experience working for a lighting and electrical manufacturers' representative, controls manufacturer, electrical distributor, or electrical contractor is highly preferred. Knowledge & Skills Strong understanding of commercial lighting control systems and electrical construction practices. Ability to read and interpret electrical plans, specifications, lighting control drawings, riser diagrams, and schedules. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with exceptional attention to detail. Ability to identify specification conflicts and potential project risks. Ability to effectively communicate technical information to customers, contractors, manufacturers, and internal teams. Self-motivated with the ability to work independently while collaborating across multiple departments. Ability to manage changing priorities and perform effectively in a deadline-driven environment.
