Hull Broadcasting along with our partner Eagle Media in Great Bend, KS, is seeking a dynamic News Director to lead our newsroom operations across digital and on-air platforms. Role:
As our News Director, you will be responsible for writing and reporting news for Great Bend Post, our leading digital news platform, while also producing and delivering daily audio newscasts for our Hull and partner Eagle Media radio stations. This position requires a strong journalist who can identify compelling stories, develop relationships with local newsmakers, and ensure our audience remains informed and engaged.
Key Responsibilities:
Research, write, and publish timely news stories for GreatBendPost.com Create and deliver daily audio newscasts for our Hull Broadcasting Station KBGL FM along with our partner Eagle Media radio stations
KHOK FM, KVGB
AM, and KVGB FM. Develop strong relationships with local leaders, law enforcement, and community stakeholders to stay ahead of breaking news and important events Conduct interviews and cover events that matter to Great Bend and the surrounding area Ensure accuracy, credibility, and fairness in all reporting Collaborate with our radio teams to keep Great Bend Post, Hull Broadcasting and Eagle Media the go-to sources for news in the region Utilize social media and digital platforms to enhance audience engagement
What We're Looking For:
Strong writing and audio production skills Experience in journalism, broadcasting, or a related field Ability to work under deadlines while maintaining accuracy and credibility Comfortable conducting interviews and engaging with the community A self-starter who can work both independently and as part of a team Familiarity with social media and digital news strategies
Pay and Benefits:
