Director of Video Content & Production Full-Time | Maryland-Based | Hybrid + Frequent Field Production Gramophone and World Wide Stereo are looking for a Director of Video Content to lead and grow video strategy and content across World Wide Stereo, Gramophone, and Gramophone Design Build. We're looking for a strategist, storyteller, producer, and creator who understands how to use video to build an audience and grow a business. Our goal isn't to create commercials. It's to create authentic, useful, compelling content that people genuinely want to watch. Content that answers questions, shares our expertise, inspires ideas, showcases incredible products and projects, takes people behind the scenes, and establishes our brands as trusted resources in audio, technology, design, and the experience of home. This person will be responsible for growing our video channels, audiences, engagement, and organic reach while using content to increase brand awareness and preference, drive website and showroom traffic, support product sales, generate interest in our services, and ultimately contribute to the growth of the business. You'll own the strategy behind what we create and why, while remaining deeply involved in production. What You'll Do Own and develop the video content strategy across World Wide Stereo, Gramophone, and Gramophone Design Build to grow our audience, increase engagement, expand organic reach, and contribute to measurable business growth Lead our YouTube strategy and develop the right mix of long-form, short-form, educational, product, project, and top-of-funnel content Be comfortable on camera and develop into a recurring host or personality for our brands Develop original concepts and recurring series around our products, services, expertise, showrooms, people, client projects, and industry Create content ranging from product reviews, comparisons, buying guides, and how-tos to project showcases, interviews, behind-the-scenes stories, thought leadership, and original editorial content Find compelling stories throughout the business and turn them into content people want to watch, share, save, and act on that positions our brands and people as trusted resources and thought leaders Develop concepts, scripts, interviews, hooks, and story structures and lead productions from idea through final delivery Independently recognize and capture the B-roll, product details, demonstrations, beauty shots, and supporting visuals needed to tell a great story Capture strong product, lifestyle, showroom, project, customer, and event photography when needed and regularly travel to client projects, jobsites, events, manufacturer locations, and other places where stories are happening Create and repurpose content for YouTube Shorts, Instagram Reels, and other social channels, finding multiple content opportunities within every production Partner closely with our social media team to extend video content across channels and maximize the value of every production Manage outside resources such as drone operators, photographers, freelancers, and other production partners as needed Manage production resources including cameras, lighting, audio, sets, equipment, footage, photography, project files, and outside partners such as drone operators or freelancers Stay deeply curious about our products, services, technologies, customers, and industries so you can tell better and more informed stories Track channel growth, reach, engagement, watch time, retention, traffic, conversions, and other meaningful metrics, using the data to continually improve our content and strategy Connect content performance to business outcomes, including website traffic, product interest and sales, showroom traffic, service awareness, leads, and inquiries Stay current on platform algorithms, audience behavior, content trends, emerging formats, and new creative tools and use data to continually test, learn, and refine our content strategy What We're Looking For 7+ years of experience in video, content, journalism, digital media, production, or a related field Proven experience developing video strategy and using content to grow an audience, brand, or business Strong understanding of YouTube, long- and short-form video, organic audience growth, and content performance Exceptional storytelling, editorial, writing, interviewing, and communication skills Strong hands-on production skills across shooting, editing, lighting, audio, composition, and photography Ability to take a story from idea through production, distribution, and performance analysis Experience leading videographers, editors, freelancers, and other creative resources while remaining a hands-on creator Strong creative and analytical instincts, with the ability to find great stories and use performance data to make better creative and business decisions A strong understanding of luxury and lifestyle branding, with the taste and storytelling instincts to capture premium products, spaces, experiences, and craftsmanship in an authentic and elevated way Self-directed, collaborative, highly organized, and genuinely curious about technology, design, architecture, and the industries and audiences we serve We'd Love to See A background or passion for home audio, home theater, two-channel audio, consumer electronics, smart home technology, lighting, electrical, architecture, interior design, or luxury residential Experience growing a YouTube channel or video-first brand Experience as an on-camera host, interviewer, journalist, or creator Motion graphics, animation, or After Effects experience Experience with premium or luxury brands, eCommerce, or technical products Familiarity with AI-assisted production and post-production tools Who You Are You're equal parts strategist and creator.
