Digio Strategies and Queen City Newsfeed are looking for a motivated, creative and community-minded individual to join our Meridian team as a News Director. This unique position combines local journalism, digital content creation and marketing . The ideal candidate will help lead the daily news operation for Queen City Newsfeed.

NEWS DIRECTOR RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE

Finding, developing and covering local news stories across East Mississippi and West Alabama Writing news stories for QueenCityNewsfeed.com and social media Conducting interviews with local officials, businesses and community leaders Covering breaking news, community events and press conferences Creating photos, video and other digital content for Facebook and other platforms Building relationships with local agencies, organizations and community partners Helping manage the daily editorial direction and content of Queen City Newsfeed Strong writing, communication, social media and organizational skills are important. Experience in journalism, broadcasting, advertising, marketing or sales is preferred, but not required. We are looking for someone who knows the community, enjoys meeting people and is comfortable working in a fast-paced environment where every day can be different. The position provides a draw against commission, with additional bonuses tied to sales goals.
