Job Description
Overview PRADCO Recruiting is hiring a Director of Commercial Lending on behalf of a member-owned Credit Union in Athens, Ohio. The primary role of this position is to lead and develop a high-performing team dedicated to helping members achieve their financial goals while exemplifying the organization's core values. This role oversees the credit union's commercial services department and is responsible for promoting, evaluating, and recommending commercial loan applications for approval. The Commercial Lending Director also develops and manages a business loan portfolio by delivering exceptional service to existing members and cultivating new commercial lending relationships. Lead and develop the commercial lending team. Manage commercial loan portfolio performance and lending decisions. Ensure compliance with lending regulations, SBA requirements, and internal policies. Oversee department operations, reporting, and process improvements. Collaborate with members, staff, and external business partners. Drive commercial lending and deposit growth initiatives. Build relationships with local businesses and community organizations. Represent the credit union at networking and community events. Support staff education on commercial products and services. Provide leadership updates and strategic recommendations to senior management. Requirement Bachelor's Degree or equivalent education and experience. Five years of experience in commercial lending and other areas within a credit union, community, or national bank, insurance, or mortgage brokerage firm. Knowledge of laws and regulations governing business and consumer lending practices, as well as collection practices. 3-5 years of successful leadership experience. Prior experience managing hybrid or remote teams is beneficial. The ideal candidate should have a high level of professionalism with a polished but warm leadership presence and also possess compassion and understanding aligned with public service-oriented leadership.
