Regional Commercial Lead Job Location:
Houston, TX The Regional Commercial Lead, Industrial Projects will be accountable for pricing, sourcing, commercial risk, and governance of medium to large scale complex RFQ and tender events. The role is accountable for ensuring robust commercial governance, including preparation and delivery of Business Case Analysis (BCA) and securing required senior sign‑offs (e.g. RVP), while promoting consistent application of commercial standards, processes, and policies to support profitable growth and sustainable value creation for DHL Industrial Projects.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Working in close partnership with the Regional Bid Manager and Technical Leads; co‑defines bid strategy, ensures that customer value propositions are translated into competitive, commercially sound proposals
  • Leads the end‑to‑end commercial process from RFQ intake through pricing, approvals, and final submission
  • Receive, administer, and review RFQs in line with standard procedures, tools, and DHL systems, identifying key commercial drivers, risks, and focus areas for medium to large‑scale multimodal projects
  • Own and define the commercial strategy for regional Industrial Projects bids, including pricing positioning, sourcing approach, margin logic, and risk posture, in close collaboration with local, regional and global resources
  • Lead and coordinate regional pricing and rate‑sourcing activities, structuring price lists, allocating sourcing responsibilities (including GSC), and ensuring timely, competitive, compliant, and technically feasible cost structures
  • Take full accountability for commercial assumptions, pricing outputs, and recommendations submitted as part of the bid, critically challenging inputs to ensure robustness and competitiveness
  • Ensure customer pricing requirements and value expectations are clearly translated into a shared understanding across stakeholders and consistently reflected in the technical solution, written proposal, and customer value narrative
  • Drive the commercial governance process end‑to‑end, including preparation of Business Case Analysis (BCA), documentation of risks and mitigation actions, and presentation of recommendations to senior stakeholders
  • Secure required commercial and governance approvals, including RVP sign‑off, proactively managing timelines, dependencies, and escalations
  • Coordinate and manage cross‑functional contributions from commercial, technical, operational, chartering, and regional stakeholders, setting clear expectations, ownership, and deadlines
  • Ensure bid responses are fully compliant with customer requirements, internal governance standards, and applicable policies
  • Apply industry expertise to identify trends, cost drivers, and optimization opportunities that improve competitiveness, margin quality, and risk profile across bids
  • Act as a regional commercial referen.
