This is not an entry-level insurance sales position. We are looking for an established insurance professional who understands commercial insurance, enjoys developing relationships with business owners, and has demonstrated the ability to prospect, develop opportunities, and close business. Our Producers are supported by an experienced Commercial Lines service team, strong carrier relationships, specialized insurance programs, and an agency that has been serving businesses since 1930. We believe great Producers should be able to focus their time on what they do best: developing relationships, advising clients, and generating new business. What You'll Do As a Commercial Lines Producer, you will be responsible for developing and growing a profitable book of commercial insurance business.
Responsibilities include:
Prospect, develop, and close new commercial insurance opportunities. Build long-term relationships with business owners, executives, and decision-makers. Identify prospective clients through referrals, networking, centers of influence, targeted prospecting, and community involvement. Meet with prospective clients to understand their businesses, operations, exposures, insurance programs, and risk-management needs. Review existing insurance programs and identify potential coverage gaps, deficiencies, and opportunities for improvement. Work with our Commercial Lines team to develop comprehensive insurance and risk-management solutions. Prepare for and participate in new-business presentations. Negotiate and work with insurance carriers and underwriters to develop competitive solutions for clients. Maintain a consistent pipeline of qualified commercial opportunities. Develop relationships with referral partners and centers of influence. Maintain ongoing relationships with existing clients and participate in renewal and stewardship meetings when appropriate. Work closely with Commercial Lines Account Managers to provide clients with a high level of ongoing service. Maintain accurate prospect and client information within the agency management and sales systems. Participate in agency sales meetings, planning, and business-development initiatives. Represent the agency professionally within the business community. Commercial Property & Casualty insurance experience. Proven sales and business-development experience. Strong understanding of commercial insurance coverages and risk exposures. Excellent communication and presentation skills. Ability to develop relationships with business owners and senior decision-makers. Strong prospecting, networking, and relationship-building skills. Self-motivated and comfortable being accountable for individual sales goals. Strong organizational and time-management skills. Ability to work independently while also collaborating with Account Managers, marketing personnel, underwriters, and agency leadership. Preferred 3+ years of successful Commercial Lines production experience. Existing relationships within the business community. Demonstrated history of building and retaining a profitable commercial book of business. Experience working with middle-market and complex commercial accounts. CIC, CRM, CPCU, or other professional insurance designation. Experience with Applied Epic or another agency management system. One of the highest Producer commission percentages in the industry. Experienced Commercial Lines Account Management support. Strong relationships with regional and national insurance carriers. Access to specialty markets and programs. Marketing and placement support for new business. Established agency infrastructure and technology. Experienced leadership with extensive Commercial Lines expertise. A collaborative environment where Producers can focus on developing and growing their books. Opportunities to pursue larger and more complex commercial accounts. The resources and support of an established independent insurance agency without the bureaucracy of a large national brokerage. Compensation We believe successful Producers should participate meaningfully in the revenue they generate. Our compensation program offers an industry-leading commission structure designed to reward Producers who build profitable, long-term books of business. Compensation may include a guaranteed salary or draw during the initial development period depending on the Producer's experience and existing book of business. Specific compensation will be discussed individually based on experience, production history, existing relationships, and growth potential. Founded in 1930, our agency has built its business around long-term relationships with our clients, insurance carriers, and community. We have a significant Commercial Lines presence and work with businesses ranging from locally owned companies to some of the largest organizations within the industries we serve. We believe Producers should have the freedom and support to build their own relationships while having an experienced team behind them to deliver outstanding service. For the right Producer, this is an opportunity to build a substantial book of business, earn exceptional compensation, and establish a long-term career with an independent agency that values entrepreneurship and relationships.
