Job Description Overview The Office of Communications and Marketing at Auburn University is excited to begin the search for a Student Photographer. The ideal candidate must be an experienced student photographer with an interest in event and campus life photography to assist with the daily photographic responsibilities of the department. The ideal student will know how to use the camera's manual settings and have a basic knowledge of the Adobe Suite for photo editing. Some experience with flash/lighting is preferred. Responsibilities Produce professional photographs for use by the university and provide photographic support to departments requesting services. Download, organize, and catalog images using appropriate keywords and captions. Upload images to the university's image library within a few hours of an assignment or event. Maintain accurate and well-organized digital photo archives. Be available during regular business hours and, as needed, evenings and weekends for photography appointments and events. Qualifications Enrolled student at Auburn University Minimum Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Knowledge of and experience using digital DSLR or mirrorless cameras. Proficiency with Adobe Lightroom, Photoshop, or similar photographic editing software. Applicants must provide a link to an online portfolio or samples of their photography work. Ability to interact professionally and effectively with support staff, clients, and other stakeholders. Strong interpersonal and communication skills with a customer service orientation. Ability to adapt and perform effectively in unfamiliar situations. Demonstrated ability to meet deadlines and manage multiple assignments. Working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications. Experience with Adobe Creative Cloud software is preferred. Preference may be given to applicants who have completed photography-related coursework. Why Work at Auburn?
