Job Description

Youth Sports Team & Individual Photographer Part-Time, Seasonal | In-Person | Immediate Hiring About the Role Once Upon A Time Portraits is seeking dependable photographers for traditional posed Team & Individual youth sports portraits—not action photography. You will work at organized picture days throughout metro Phoenix and select Arizona cities, creating consistent, professional images that families will value. What You'll Do Photograph posed individual athletes and organized team groups using your own DSLR or mirrorless camera Direct athletes confidently and arrange teams by height, spacing, posture, and visibility Follow OUAT camera settings, posing standards, and picture-day procedures; no post-editing is required Review paperwork and special photo requests before photographing each athlete Work efficiently while maintaining image quality and keeping teams on schedule Communicate professionally with coaches, parents, athletes, and crew members Assist with equipment setup, breakdown, and transport What We're Looking For Experience with posed individuals or organized team groups preferred Your own dependable DSLR or mirrorless camera and a versatile zoom lens External flash strongly recommended Working knowledge of exposure, focus, camera settings, and flash operation Reliable transportation, valid identification/driver's license, and current auto insurance (if applicable) Smartphone and reliable email access Patient, positive, organized, coachable, and comfortable directing children and large teams Able to work outdoors, travel to locations, lift 5-15 pounds, and complete a background check if required Schedule and Pay Fall season: August through November Saturdays are the primary and busiest workdays Sunday and select weekday assignments are also available Typical assignment length: approximately 5-8 hours Applicable mileage and travel compensation Starting pay: $17.50 per hour Scheduling and Commitment This is a flexible, event-based opportunity with Saturday, Sunday, and select weekday assignments. You choose which assignments to accept, but once accepted, we rely on you to honor that commitment. Dependability, punctuality, and consistent attendance are essential. Our company's mobile app is required to view available assignments, receive updates, access the team directory and documents, use chat, and access other work-related features. Equipment and Training Training is provided to operate our professional photography and lighting equipment. Once Upon A Time Portraits will provide a canopy and field-equipment package, with new and used options available.
