Job Description

Experienced Sprinkler Blowout Technician — $28-35/hr + $1,000 Completion Bonus Temporary Seasonal Position | September 28 - Approximately October 30, 2026 Northern Colorado Bednarik Irrigation is looking for an experienced Sprinkler Blowout Technician to join our team for the 2026 fall winterization season. This is a short-term, high-hour seasonal position focused exclusively on residential sprinkler winterizations/blowouts. We're looking for someone with significant hands-on experience who can hit the ground running and independently operate a winterization route with minimal training. If you already know how to properly winterize residential irrigation systems and are looking for an opportunity to earn great money during a busy 4-5 week season, this may be a great fit. Pay & Completion Bonus 28-35 per hour, depending on experience and demonstrated ability. In addition to hourly pay, technicians are eligible for a: $1,000 End-of-Season Completion Bonus The $1,000 bonus will be paid to employees who successfully complete the entire scheduled blowout season with: Good attendance and reliability No preventable vehicle or equipment incidents Acceptable workmanship and service quality Successful completion of assigned routes and responsibilities
Schedule Employment Dates:
September 28 through approximately October 30, 2026 This is our busiest winterization period, so applicants should be prepared for a demanding but short seasonal schedule. Approximately 8-12 hours per day 5-6 days per week Saturdays are required Approximately 12-15 residential sprinkler blowouts per day Overtime may be available/required depending on weather, workload and customer demand Because sprinkler winterization is weather-dependent, the exact end date may vary slightly based on temperatures and workload. What You'll Do Complete approximately 12-15 residential sprinkler winterizations per day Independently operate a company truck and commercial tow-behind air compressor Safely tow and back compressors throughout residential neighborhoods and driveways Properly connect compressors to residential irrigation systems Winterize irrigation zones, valves, backflow preventers and related components Identify and document existing system problems or potential freeze risks Follow company winterization procedures and quality standards Complete assigned routes efficiently and on schedule Communicate professionally with homeowners Complete job documentation using our mobile field-service system Keep assigned vehicles, compressors and equipment clean and in safe operating condition Required Experience This is not an entry-level irrigation position.
Applicants must have:
2+ years of hands-on experience winterizing residential sprinkler systems Strong understanding of residential irrigation systems Experience winterizing common residential backflow preventers and irrigation components Experience safely operating commercial air compressors Experience towing and backing trailers or tow-behind compressors Ability to independently complete sprinkler winterizations with minimal supervision Valid driver's license Clean motor vehicle history Ability to pass a background check Strong attendance and reliability Professional appearance and customer-service skills Ability to work outdoors in changing fall weather conditions Ability to safely perform the physical requirements of the position Who We're Looking For Our ideal candidate is someone who has already worked multiple sprinkler blowout seasons and doesn't need to be taught how to winterize an irrigation system. After becoming familiar with our procedures and equipment, you should be comfortable being handed a truck, compressor and route and completing 12-15 quality winterizations per day independently.
