Trap and Skeet Puller Job Summary:
The Trap and Skeet Puller is responsible for operating clay target throwing machines during trap and skeet shooting events. This position ensures the smooth and safe operation of the range by following established procedures and providing a positive experience for shooters.Key Responsibilities:
- Operate the control system to release clay targets according to the shooter's call during trap and skeet rounds.
- Ensure all equipment, including voice release systems and target machines, is functioning properly before and during shooting events.
- Load clay targets into the trap and skeet machines safely and efficiently.
- Maintain a high level of attention and responsiveness to shooters' commands to ensure accurate and timely target presentation.
- Monitor the shooting field for safety, including ensuring all participants adhere to range rules and regulations.
- Keep the shooting area clean and organized, including picking up empty shells and debris.
- Provide courteous and professional customer service to shooters and guests.
- Communicate with a range of staff and management regarding equipment issues or safety concerns.
Qualifications:
- Familiarity with trap and skeet shooting sports preferred but not required; training will be provided.
- Ability to stand for extended periods and perform physical tasks such as lifting and carrying boxes of clay targets.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to focus in a fast-paced environment.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
- Commitment to safety and following range protocols.
Working Conditions:
- Outdoor environment with exposure to varying weather conditions.
- Noise levels may be high; hearing protection is required and provided.
