Job Description

Mobile Knife Sharpening Technician - Ann Arbor, MI The Roaming Stone is a mobile sharpening company that brings professional sharpening directly to customers' homes. We are looking for a dependable, mechanically inclined person to service our growing Ann Arbor territory. No previous sharpening experience is required. We provide paid training, all sharpening equipment, and customer appointments. This is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys hands-on work, working independently, meeting people, and having control over their schedule. Once trained, you will travel to scheduled customer appointments in the Ann Arbor area and sharpen knives and other household cutting tools on-site. What We Provide Paid hands-on training All sharpening tools and equipment needed to perform the work Customer appointments scheduled for you An established service area with existing customers Ongoing support as you develop your territory Flexible scheduling around your availability What You'll Do Travel to scheduled customer appointments in the Ann Arbor area Professionally sharpen knives, scissors, garden tools, and other cutting tools Provide friendly, professional customer service Confirm upcoming appointments with customers Maintain and care for the sharpening equipment provided Work with our team to build a strong and active customer base within your territory What We're Looking For Mechanically inclined and comfortable learning a hands-on skill Reliable, punctual, and professional Reliable transportation and a valid driver's license Comfortable working independently Good communication and customer-service skills Smartphone and internet access At least 20 hours of availability per week Motivated to grow your customer base and earnings Compensation This is an independent contractor position with commission-based compensation. Contractors receive 50% of appointment revenue, less applicable credit-card processing fees. Earnings vary based on appointment volume, appointment value, and route density. The estimated hourly earnings displayed on this posting are provided as an estimate and are not a guaranteed hourly wage . Customer appointments have a $50 minimum service charge , and The Roaming Stone provides the training, equipment, scheduling, and customer appointments needed to perform the work. Schedule This is a flexible, part-time opportunity. We are looking for someone who can provide at least 20 hours of availability each week . Appointment volume varies and a specific number of paid hours is not guaranteed.
