We are looking for a versatile in-house freelance creative who can support our team across both graphic design and product photography. This is not strictly a photography position, and it is not strictly a graphic design position. We need someone who can take a physical product from product photography → image editing → packaging and creative assets, while working within the established visual direction of our individual brands. Projects may include photographing new products, developing or updating packaging, creating instruction manuals and inserts, preparing e-commerce listing graphics, editing product photography, and supporting other creative needs. What You'll Work On Photograph physical products using our in-house studio equipment, lighting, softboxes, backdrops, and product photography setup Set up products, lighting, backgrounds, and camera angles to produce clean commercial product photography Edit and retouch product images in Adobe Photoshop Create new product packaging based on existing brand guidelines, product information, dielines, and creative direction Update existing packaging when products, features, claims, dimensions, or other information change Create and update instruction manuals, inserts, labels, icons, and other product materials Create e-commerce listing images and graphics for Amazon, Walmart, Shopify, and other marketplaces Prepare product imagery for web, social media, digital advertising, and other marketing uses Work with our existing in-house designer and team to maintain consistency across each brand Prepare organized, editable production files that can be handed off to other team members or vendors Assist with additional creative projects as needed

What We're Looking For Required:

Strong working knowledge of Adobe Illustrator Strong working knowledge of Adobe Photoshop Ability to design packaging and other product-related creative from a supplied brief and brand guidelines Ability to work within an existing brand identity, rather than applying the same personal design style to every project Hands-on photography experience and comfort using cameras and studio photography equipment Understanding of basic product lighting, composition, backgrounds, and image quality Ability to edit and retouch your own product photography Strong typography, layout, visual hierarchy, and attention to detail Ability to maintain clean, organized, editable working files Ability to work independently from a brief and ask questions when direction is unclear Portfolio demonstrating relevant creative work Helpful but not required: Adobe InDesign Lightroom Packaging/dieline production experience E-commerce or marketplace creative experience Amazon/Walmart/Shopify listing content Short-form video or basic video editing Figma or Canva Basic HTML/CSS, web design, or Shopify experience Experience & Education We are open to students, recent graduates, freelancers, and early-career creatives who can demonstrate the necessary skills through their portfolio and work. Graphic Design, Visual Communication, Photography, Digital Media, or related education is helpful, but a specific degree is not required. Approximately 1+ year of relevant hands-on experience, coursework, freelance work, internships, or equivalent portfolio work is preferred. Work Arrangement This is an ongoing freelance/project-based position, not a traditional fixed-hours part-time job. There are no guaranteed weekly hours; work will be assigned based on active projects and business needs. Projects are often time-sensitive. We're looking for someone who can typically come in within 1-3 days of a request and turn around deliverables quickly. Product photography and projects involving physical products will be completed on-site at our Fairfield, NJ office using our equipment and products. Some design work may be completed remotely once a project has been assigned and expectations are established.
