DanceBUG Inc. is seeking a Freelance Sports/Live Action Travel Photographer to capture high-energy dance competitions and live events across North America. You'll photograph fast-moving performances, candid moments, and award ceremonies, working closely with our production crews and event partners. Responsibilities include on-location shooting, basic lighting, image culling, and light editing to meet brand standards. Ideal candidates have strong action-photography skills, can travel frequently, communicate well with clients, and thrive in fast-paced, performance-driven environments. Responsibilities Travel to dance competitions and live sports-style events across North America to capture high-quality photos Photograph fast-moving performances, candid moments, awards, and behind-the-scenes content Set up, operate, and maintain professional camera equipment, lenses, and lighting as needed Work closely with event directors, production crews, and studio partners to align on shot lists and timelines Ingest, cull, and lightly edit images for color, exposure, and cropping to meet Dance BUG brand standards Deliver photos on deadline using Dance BUG's platforms and file-naming/organizational conventions Adapt quickly to changing event conditions, schedules, and technical issues while maintaining quality Provide excellent on-site customer service to dancers, families, and clients Follow venue, safety, and data-handling protocols during all events Contribute feedback to improve event workflows, tools, and media products Required Skills Action and sports photography Event photography DSLR/mirrorless camera operation Fast shutter and low-light techniques Basic lighting and on-camera flash Photo editing in Lightroom or similar Digital asset management and file organization Travel logistics and time management Client-facing communication Working in fast-paced live event environments
