Job Description

HomeTourVision | Independent Contractor | Flexible Weekday Availability Now hiring throughout Rockland County and surrounding areas. This position is not limited to New City. We are looking for photographers throughout Rockland County and nearby areas. A Quick Note About Pay Indeed requires us to display an hourly pay range, but this is not an hourly position . HomeTourVision photographers are independent contractors and are paid per assignment. Compensation varies based on property size and the services being captured. Some appointments include multiple services, and photographers may complete multiple appointments in a day depending on availability and appointment volume. Great Behind a Camera AND Great With People? We'd Like to Meet You. HomeTourVision is looking for talented photographers and videographers to join our real estate media team throughout Rockland County and surrounding areas. Real estate photography experience is a plus, but it is not required. We're looking for people who already have a strong photography foundation and a good eye. If your background is in weddings, events, commercial work, portraits, video production, architectural photography, or another area of professional photography, we'd still love to hear from you. Real estate media is a different style of shooting with its own workflow. We have established standards and processes at HomeTourVision, and we're happy to work with experienced photographers who are open to learning the way we capture properties and take care of our clients. The Person Behind the Camera Matters Just as Much This is a big one for us. Our photographers are often the only members of the HomeTourVision team our clients meet face-to-face, so personality and customer service are extremely important. We're looking for someone who is friendly, personable, professional, dependable, and genuinely enjoys working with people. You'll interact with real estate agents, homeowners, sellers, builders, and other professionals. We want someone who can walk into a property, make people feel comfortable, communicate confidently, and represent HomeTourVision in a way that makes our clients happy to see you again at their next listing. We Believe in Accountability Our photographers work independently in the field, and with that flexibility comes responsibility. If you accept an assignment, we expect you to own it. That means being on time, being prepared, following our shooting standards, communicating when something isn't right, taking care of the property while you're there, and making sure your files are uploaded correctly and on time. We're also looking for people who are open to feedback and willing to learn. Whether you've been photographing professionally for two years or twenty, consistency across our team is important. We don't expect you to know everything about real estate media on day one. We do expect you to take pride in your work, ask questions when you're unsure, be receptive to feedback, and take responsibility for the assignments you accept. What You May Be Capturing Depending on your experience and training, assignments may include: Professional interior and exterior HDR photography Real estate video Aerial photography and video 3D virtual tours Floor plans Additional real estate media services You do not need experience with every service to apply. Required Photography Equipment Because of the way we capture and process our HDR photography, there are certain pieces of equipment that are required for this position.
You must have:
DSLR or mirrorless camera capable of 5-shot Auto Exposure Bracketing (AEB) at 2 EV increments Ultra-wide-angle lens capable of 16mm or wider (full-frame equivalent) Professional-grade, sturdy tripod suitable for HDR/bracketed photography Computer with reliable high-speed internet for uploading media Smartphone Reliable transportation A professional-quality tripod is important. Our HDR photography process requires multiple bracketed exposures to remain properly aligned, so lightweight or budget consumer tripods generally aren't suitable for the stability and consistency our workflow requires. Experience with or ownership of gimbals, drones, and 360 cameras is a plus, but these are not required to apply. FAA Part 107 certification is also a plus for photographers interested in capturing aerial photography and video. Already Have Your Own Photography Business? Great. Many of our photographers also run their own photography businesses, shoot weddings and events, work with corporate clients, or take on other freelance projects. Since most real estate appointments take place during the week, working with HomeTourVision can be a great source of supplemental weekday income while still allowing you to continue your existing photography or video business. What We're Looking For Professional photography and/or videography experience Strong portfolio demonstrating a good eye for composition, lighting, and image quality Solid understanding of manual camera settings and exposure Friendly, personable attitude and excellent customer service skills Professional appearance and communication Dependability and punctuality Strong time-management and organizational skills Ability to work independently and take responsibility for assignments Willingness to learn and follow HomeTourVision shooting standards and workflows Ability to accept feedback and apply it consistently Reliable transportation Weekday daytime availability Previous experience with real estate photography, video, drones, gimbals, 360 cameras, floor plans, or 3D tours is a plus, but real estate experience itself is not required. About HomeTourVision HomeTourVision has been providing professional real estate photography and marketing services for more than 14 years , showcasing more than 75,000 properties throughout the Hudson Valley and surrounding markets. We handle the scheduling, editing, post-production, and delivery so our photographers can concentrate on capturing great media, representing our company professionally, and providing a great experience at every appointment. Interested? We'd love to hear from you. When applying, please include: A little about yourself and your photography/video background A link to your portfolio or examples of your work Where you're located Your general weekday availability Your camera body, ultra-wide-angle lens, and tripod models Any experience you have with video, drones, gimbals, or 360 cameras If you're an experienced photographer with a great eye, a great personality, strong customer service skills, and you take pride in being someone people can depend on, we'd love to talk with you.
