PJ # 7419 About The Position This position will support the communications, publications, marketing, branding, and special event efforts of the university. Duties are expected to include, but not be limited to, performing a variety of photo and video assignments, managing photo and digital assets in the university's digital asset management system, and capturing and producing video and photos in a compelling way to tell the SUNY Plattsburgh story. Every day in this role will be different and unique, and will serve the flow of campus life and the real-time messaging of the student experience. With a heavy emphasis on photo, video, and social media content, this individual will be expected to have a truly creative eye and to make original, boundary-pushing work to differentiate our university from our peers. The Department of Marketing team at SUNY Plattsburgh is the campus hub for communications, social media, digital engagement, storytelling, graphic design, and brand standards. Our work supports the Plattsburgh Next strategic plan as it aligns with the university's identity, mission, and vision. We are a part of the Enrollment and Student Success division which supports a student's entire collegiate experience from the point of admission through to graduation. Required Qualifications Bachelor's degree One (1) year of experience as a videographer and/or photographer in a variety of environments Demonstrated knowledge of DSLR/mirrorless camera systems, lenses, lighting, composition, exposure, and color Demonstrated knowledge of the full video production lifecycle, including concept development, pre-production, shooting, interviewing, editing, color correction, audio, and final delivery Experience in Adobe Creative Cloud, particularly Photoshop and Premiere Pro, or software equivalents Experience adapting photo and video for YouTube, Instagram, TikTok, websites, paid advertising, digital signage, and other channels Demonstrated knowledge of digital asset management systems (DAM) Demonstrated ability to multitask and coordinate multiple projects simultaneously Demonstrated ability to work effectively and collegially with faculty, staff, students, and administrators Ability to work evening and weekend hours as necessary Preferred Qualifications Strong visual storytelling ability, rather than simply technical proficiency Strong interviewing skills, particularly the ability to make students and nonprofessional subjects comfortable on camera Demonstrated ability to shoot in a variety of environments, including portraits, events, candid, environmental, and classroom settings Knowledge of professional audio recording, lighting, stabilization, and multi-camera production Corporate or educational videography/photography experience Drone pilot's license and drone operation experience Ability to establish metadata, naming, tagging, and asset-management standards Salary (Applicant View): $55,000 minimum, plus excellent benefits About Our University SUNY Plattsburgh , home of the Cardinals, is part of the largest comprehensive university system in the United States.
