Casting "Happy Birthday, Moonpie," a student film.
Synopsis:
Moonpie is a pig, a pig who has become astonishingly famous through social media. And today is Moonpie's birthday. Loosely based on the true story of the internet-famous pygmy hippopotamus, Moo Deng, Moonpie has a huge following, which is managed by his owner, a mid-40s woman named Dottie. The events of the film take place in the hours leading up to the party, as Dottie prepares for the expected crowds that will be attending the farm just to see Moonpie. The story unfolds in a dual perspective of Moonpie, a pig dressed in a bright pink party hat, and Dottie, a naive farm owner who is blinded by her love for Moonpie. Soon, a news broadcasting team shows up for press coverage of the party, and now Dottie is the subject of an interview shortly before the doors of the farm open. As Dottie opens up about her role in Moonpie's rise to fame, Moonpie is left alone in his pen, trying to understand the chaos that grows around him and all that goes wrong before his birthday party.
