Description:
Welcome to Windham Mountain Club!
Work Location:
In-person role based in Windham, NY.
Seasonal Position:
This Full-Time role is available for the winter season.
Pay:
$20-$22 per hour based on experience
Anticipated Start Dates:
The Beginning of December Schedule:
Will require working early mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays
Conditions:
Must be able to get to a from work in all weather conditions. This is an indoor position.
Overview of Position:
The Shop at Windham Mountain Club is a multi-seasonal specialty retailer that carries a vast selection of equipment, clothing, and accessories for a variety of outdoor activities. The Retail Service Technician is primarily involved in ski/snowboard equipment repair and maintenance using sophisticated mounting and tuning equipment.
Key Responsibilities:
Perform all aspects of servicing ski/snowboard equipment including but not limited to mounting & adjustments, tuning, and boot fitting Proactively address all customer needs and questions. Maintain all shop equipment and tools. Operate POS system. Operate ski/snowboard service tools and equipment. Maintain a clean and safe work environment. Adhere to all safety precautions, including use of proper personal protection equipment (gloves, safety goggles, hearing protection, etc.). Maintain knowledge of the ski area, programs, events, daily snow conditions and any other information that aids in your communication with guests.
Qualifications:
Be at least 18 years old. Hands-on experience mounting and tuning equipment. Intermediate knowledge of ski and snowboard construction. Customer service experience preferred. Must be comfortable interacting with both staff and guests in a friendly and helpful manner. Must be able to handle a stressful, noisy, and crowded situation. Must be able to use basic computer systems and POS software. Basic math skills.
Physical Requirements:
Ability to lift and maneuver up to 50 pounds. Ability to stand and walk for up to 10 hours. Ability to stand and walk on uneven terrain, including snow and ice covered surfaces. Ability to climb stairs and ladders. Ability to push, pull, bend, stoop, kneel, and reach regularly.
