We're looking for a part-time community and high school sports photographer to cover Williams County, Ohio (Montpelier, Bryan, West Unity, Stryker, Pioneer, Edgerton, and surrounding communities). The Village Reporter has won Sports Coverage of the Year several times in the state of Ohio

• this role is a direct contributor to that standard.

A note on what this role is: this is a part-time, supplemental-income position with a small, family-owned community newspaper. Your photos appear in print, on our website, and in homes across the county. This isn't a full-time photography career

The Details:

• $13/hour to start, with advancement after the probationary period
• In season, 5-6 events and roughly 9-14 hours a week; most football and volleyball nights run 1.5-2 hours, preseason media days and golf run longer
• Mileage has been running 75-85 miles a week, reimbursed
• Heaviest August through winter tournaments; summer is light
• Most editing and uploading done from home
• Additional opportunities for candidates with strong writing skills

• Genuinely enjoys being at local games and community events
• Owns reliable photography equipment (or willing to use ours)
• Can take crisp, in-focus, non-blurry photos
• Reliable and on time
• events run on a fixed clock
• Lives in or near Williams County with reliable transportation
