Job Description
The Photography & Videography Assistant Intern will gain hands-on experience in a professional creative studio by assisting with photography and videography projects, community events, and commercial productions. The intern will support all stages of content creation, including production planning, equipment setup, capturing photo and video content, editing, and studio operations while working alongside experienced creative professionals. This paid internship is funded through the Career Accelerator Internship Grant Program (CAIGP) and is designed to provide practical career experience that prepares students for employment in the creative media industry. The position is part time during the Fall 2026 semester (September 14-December 4, 2026) Responsibilities Assist photographers and videographers during client sessions and events. Set up and break down cameras, lighting, backdrops, and production equipment. Capture behind-the-scenes content for social media and marketing. Assist with photo and video editing using Adobe Creative Cloud software. Organize, back up, and manage digital photo and video files. Prepare equipment before and after shoots. Support studio operations and maintain an organized creative workspace. Assist with community events, corporate productions, and promotional campaigns. Collaborate with the creative team during planning meetings and production days. Perform other photography, videography, and creative production duties as assigned. Eligibility Requirements Applicants must meet one of the following requirements: Be a current undergraduate or graduate student enrolled at a New Jersey college or university; OR Be a recent New Jersey college graduate who graduated in May 2025 or May 2026; or Be a current undergraduate student who resides in New Jersey and meets the eligibility requirements of the Career Accelerator Internship Grant Program (CAIGP). Preferred Qualifications Interest in photography, videography, media production, communications, marketing, or a related field. Basic knowledge of DSLR or mirrorless cameras is preferred but not required. Experience with Adobe Photoshop, Lightroom, Premiere Pro, or similar software is a plus. Strong communication, organizational, and teamwork skills. Reliable, detail-oriented, creative, and eager to learn. Ability to lift and transport photography and videography equipment as needed.
