$600-$1,000 About the Opportunity Bowtie Media is seeking an experienced Charleston-based content creator for an on-location home, design and lifestyle production connected to House Beautiful on Thursday, October 8, 2026. This is a one-day freelance assignment that includes on-location content capture and expedited post-production. The selected creator will capture polished vertical video and photography and turn that material into finished, social-first assets shortly after the shoot. Bowtie Media and the client team will provide a creative brief, brand guidance and a defined shot list. We are looking for someone who can execute that direction reliably while also identifying spontaneous details, interactions and moments that will make the finished content more engaging. There may also be opportunities to film participating designers discussing their spaces, creative inspiration, selected products or notable design details. The creator should be comfortable providing light on-camera direction and conversational prompts. This project may lead to additional assignments for premium home, interiors, design and lifestyle brands. Responsibilities Capture high-quality vertical video for Instagram Reels and other short-form platforms Photograph interiors, products, architectural features, design details and event activity Capture both detailed product footage and wider views that establish the space Follow an established creative brief, brand guidelines and shot list Identify additional shots, angles and candid moments that support the brand story Potentially film participating designers discussing their spaces, inspiration, products or notable design choices Provide light on-camera direction and conversational prompting to produce natural, concise responses Capture supporting B-roll that can be incorporated into designer-led videos Record clean, intelligible dialogue in an active residential or event environment Collaborate professionally with Bowtie Media, client representatives, designers and event participants Work discreetly and efficiently around designers, guests and other production activity Organize, label and upload all usable raw video, photography and audio within 24 hours of the shoot Edit polished, social-first vertical video assets Edit a curated selection of final photographs Incorporate appropriate pacing, music, captions, transitions, typography and brand treatments Deliver initial edited assets within 48 hours of the shoot Complete one consolidated revision round Deliver final exports within 24 hours of receiving consolidated feedback Project Deliverables The selected creator will be responsible for both on-location capture and post-production.
Anticipated deliverables include:
Up to eight hours of on-location production in Charleston on October 8, 2026 High-quality vertical video capturing interiors, products, design details, people and event activity A collection of professional photographs captured during the production Designer-led short-form footage, if designer access and timing allow Supporting B-roll for any designer interviews or voiceover content Organized delivery of all usable raw video, photography and audio Two edited vertical videos approximately 15-30 seconds each Approximately 10 professionally edited photographs Social-first pacing, music, transitions, captions and tasteful typography consistent with the provided creative direction Clean dialogue and basic audio enhancement for any designer-led content Appropriate licensed or platform-cleared music Social-ready exports in the required dimensions and file formats One consolidated revision round Depending on designer availability and the footage captured, one or both edited videos may feature a designer on camera or incorporate designer commentary as a voiceover. The final formats will be determined following the shoot based on the strongest available material. The exact shot list, interview prompts, participating designers, production hours, file specifications and final deliverables will be confirmed in writing before production. Production and Delivery Schedule On-location production: Thursday, October 8, 2026 Organized raw video, photography and audio uploaded: By October 9 Initial edited videos and photographs delivered: By October 10 One consolidated revision round: Following receipt of feedback Final exports delivered: Within 24 hours of receiving consolidated feedback Applicants must reserve sufficient post-production time immediately following the shoot to meet this schedule. Qualifications Professional experience creating short-form social video and photography Portfolio demonstrating polished vertical content Experience creating content for interiors, architecture, home, luxury, hospitality, food, fashion or lifestyle brands Strong understanding of composition, lighting, camera movement and visual storytelling Ability to create engaging social content rather than simply document an event Comfortable directing designers, founders, chefs, brand representatives or other subjects on camera Ability to help on-camera participants provide natural, concise and usable responses Ability to capture clean dialogue in an active event environment Proficiency with Adobe Premiere Pro, Final Cut Pro, DaVinci Resolve, CapCut or comparable editing software Photo-editing experience using Lightroom, Photoshop or comparable tools Ability to interpret and execute a creative brief and detailed shot list Strong file-management and organizational skills Clear, professional and responsive communication Ability to meet the required 24-hour upload and 48-hour initial-edit deadlines Own a professional camera or high-quality mobile production kit suitable for vertical video and photography Own or have access to appropriate stabilization, lighting and wireless or lavalier audio equipment Based in or able to work locally in Charleston on October 8, 2026 Preferred Experience Luxury interiors, designer showhouses, architecture or premium home brands Editorial, event or experiential content Working in occupied residences or active event environments Capturing designers and brand representatives naturally on camera Conducting brief social-first interviews or prompted conversations Creating multiple social assets from a single production day Incorporating tasteful typography, captions, motion graphics or product information into short-form edits Compensation $600-$1,000 total project fee. The final fee will be determined by the confirmed production schedule, creator experience, equipment requirements and agreed deliverables. The fee is intended to cover the confirmed production day, organized raw-file delivery, editing of the agreed assets and one consolidated revision round. The exact number of edited assets will be confirmed in writing based on the final project fee and client requirements. Any additional production time, deliverables or revision rounds beyond the confirmed scope will require written approval and may be compensated separately. Reasonable, pre-approved local expenses will be reimbursed separately. Unapproved travel, equipment rentals, assistants or other expenses will not be reimbursed. Contractor Relationship This is a project-based independent contractor assignment, not an employee position. The selected creator will be required to sign a project agreement before beginning work.
