Job Summary Join the Foothills Exterior crew as a Seasonal Christmas Light Installer and help us put up the best looking holiday displays in the Upstate.

This is hands-on outdoor work:

installing, maintaining, and taking down professional C9 roofline lighting, tree and bush lighting, wreaths, and garland on residential and commercial properties, with precision and safety first. Paid training starts in early October at $16/hr, then performance pay takes over: installers earn a percentage of every job, and most days pay $150 to $300. • Install custom-cut C9 roofline lighting on residential and commercial properties following our installation and safety standards
• Measure, cut, and assemble light lines to fit each home so every run is straight, even, and clean
• Wrap trees and bushes, set ground stake lighting, and hang wreaths and garland to the design plan
• Set up timers and connections so every display runs reliably through the season
• Troubleshoot and repair outages, sagging lines, and fixture issues during the season (paid service work)
• Work safely from ladders up to 32 feet following our ladder and fall-safety protocols
• Keep the truck stocked and organized with daily load-out and restock inventory counts
• Take down, label, and store all equipment in January so it's ready for next season
• Work with a 3 man crew to hit daily goals while keeping quality and safety standards high Skills
• Comfortable working at height from ladders up to 32 feet, all day
• Hands-on background that transfers: roofing, gutters, landscape crews, cable, solar, or similar trade work is a real plus, especially if your trade slows down for the winter; this is a requirement, preferably with plenty of experience working from a ladder and roof.
• A detail eye: straight lines, even spacing, hidden cords. When the homeowner walks out front that night, the finished look is the whole product
• Able to handle physical work: carrying ladders, lifting up to 50 lbs, and working outdoors in cold weather
• Reliable and on time every day: on a 3 man crew, one empty seat changes everybody's day
• Valid driver's license and a clean driving record, meaning no tickets or accidents in the last 5 years
• 18 or older and available through January 30, including possible Saturday and Sunday work during peak install weeks, typically mid to late November into early December
• Clear communicator with teammates and homeowners The season runs on a simple structure: paid training in mid October the week before installs, installs in October through mid December, and takedowns from January 2 until everything is down, typically no later than January 31.

You're paid for installs and takedowns both, with paychecks every other Thursday, and all equipment and safety gear is provided. If you have roofing/solar experience or experience working from a roof, you will start at a higher rate, and strong seasonal installers get first look at year round openings on our exterior cleaning crews.
