Job Description

Seeking a High School Athletic Trainer (AT) as a valuable part of the extraordinary care offered at a Utah County high school. The associate AT is responsible for expanded sideline and training room coverage in collaboration with the district employed AT. The coverage will include prevention, evaluation, stabilization, and triage to appropriate care. The associate AT should feel comfortable working with high school athletes and be comfortable evaluating, stabilizing, and triage in an non-emergent/emergent situations. The associate AT seeks and accepts feedback from the district employed AT and contracted physicians for the purpose of maintaining or improving the quality of skills and knowledge.

Practice and game coverage as needed.

Competitive; dependent upon experience

No Shift Details This position is part time or full time (approximately 20-35 hours/week). Work schedule is typically in the afternoon and evening (occasional weekends). Days of the week will fluctuate depending on scheduled events and training room needs in collaboration with the district employed AT.

  • Completion of a CAATE accredited Athletic Trainer Program
  • Current Certified Athletic Trainer license in the state of Utah
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively on the phone, in writing and via email
  • Ability to exercise discretion on sensitive and confidential matters
  • Demonstrated computer skills with data entry software
  • Must be able to have a flexible schedule in accordance with the needs of the high school athletics.
  • Possess the ability to evaluate, stabilize, and triage in an non-emergent/emergent situations
  • Ability to apply taping and/or braces.
  • Ability to communicate with coaching staff conditions that necessitates athlete being held from play.
Preferred Qualifications Standing, sitting, walking, speaking, listening, bending, reaching, pushing, pulling, lifting, grasping and manipulating tools, taping, typing, using peripheral computer tools.
