About Anchorage Distillery Anchorage Distillery is an Alaska-based craft distillery producing a portfolio of spirits and ready-to-drink cocktails. Our products include Alaska-grown spirits; gin, vodkas, whiskey, specialty spirits and a growing line of canned cocktails. We are looking for an experienced, hands-on leader to take ownership of our production operation and contribute to building the next phase of Anchorage Distillery. The Opportunity The Production Manager/Distiller is responsible for the planning, execution and quality of Anchorage Distillery's production operation—from raw materials through finished product. This position will lead day-to-day production of our spirits and ready-to-drink cocktails while managing production scheduling, inventory, quality control, compliance, equipment, packaging and production staff. This is a hands-on management position. You will plan and manage production, as well as spend significant time on the production floor leading and working alongside the production team. We are looking for someone who enjoys an active work environment. Key Responsibilities Production Leadership & Planning

• Own the day-to-day distilling and production operation.
• Develop and maintain production schedules for spirits, RTDs, packaging and barrel-aged products.
• Plan production based on sales forecasts, inventory levels, customer demand and available resources.
• Coordinate production priorities with executive leadership.
• Identify potential production constraints or inventory shortages and proactively address them.
• Establish efficient production workflows and look for opportunities to improve productivity, quality and reliability.
• Manage production resources responsibly and operate within established budgets. Distilling & Beverage Production
• Lead and perform the milling, mashing, fermenting, distilling, blending, barreling and packaging of Anchorage Distillery products.
• Produce spirits and RTD products according to established recipes, procedures and quality standards.
• Monitor fermentation, distillation and finished-product quality.
• Participate in product development and assist with bringing new products from concept through production.
• Maintain consistency across batches while identifying opportunities to improve product quality and production efficiency. Quality, Compliance & Documentation
• Own production quality from raw materials through finished product.
• Conduct sensory and physical evaluation of mash, distillate, aging product and finished spirits.
• Maintain accurate production records and documentation using Distill x 5 and other required systems.
• Ensure production practices comply with applicable federal, state and local regulations.
• Develop, maintain and improve Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
• Maintain accurate batch, inventory and production records.
• Promote a culture of quality, safety, cleanliness and accountability. Inventory & Materials Management
• Manage inventory of raw materials, ingredients, packaging and production supplies.
• Monitor inventory levels and coordinate purchasing within approved budgets.
• Maintain appropriate finished-goods inventory to support customer demand.
• Coordinate production and finished-goods availability with customer orders and shipping requirements.
• Receive and organize grain, ingredients, packaging and other production materials.
• Load and unload shipments as necessary. Barrel & Whiskey Program
• Manage barrel inventory and the whiskey aging program.
• Maintain accurate barrel records and production documentation.
• Coordinate barrel filling, movement, sampling and management.
• Participate in sensory evaluation and blending decisions.
• Help develop and maintain the long-term whiskey program at Anchorage Distillery. Equipment & Facility
• Maintain production equipment and the production facility in a clean, safe and reliable condition.
• Develop and execute preventive maintenance schedules.
• Troubleshoot production equipment and process issues.
• Maintain pumps, motors, valves, agitators and other production equipment.
• Coordinate third-party maintenance and repairs when necessary.
• Work with executive leadership to identify maintenance, equipment and capital needs.
• Identify opportunities to improve production capacity, efficiency and reliability. Team Leadership
• Lead, train, mentor and develop production and packaging staff.
• Establish daily priorities and delegate work effectively.
• Schedule production support staff based on production requirements.
• Maintain high standards for safety, quality, productivity and cleanliness.
• Build a team-oriented production environment where employees understand expectations and take pride in their work.
• Lead by example with a strong work ethic, positive attitude and willingness to do the work alongside the team.

Hands-On Production Support Because we are a small company, the Production Manager/Distiller will perform the same hands-on work as other members of the production team.

This may include:

• Operating production equipment.
• Washing and filling bottles.
• Applying labels, caps and shrink seals.
• Palletizing finished cases.
• Moving materials and finished products.
• Preparing customer orders for shipment.
• Assisting with loading and unloading.
• Cleaning production equipment and work areas.
• Supporting self-distribution deliveries when necessary. We believe this hands-on approach is an important part of working at a small craft distillery. The Production Manager is expected to lead the work, not work above the work. Brand & Customer Engagement
• Develop strong knowledge of Anchorage Distillery products and production processes.
• Represent the Anchorage Distillery brand in a professional and approachable manner.
• Participate in tastings, industry events and other customer-facing activities.
• Lead weekly Distillery tours to Anchorage Distillery guests.
• Work with the tasting room and marketing/sales to provide accurate product and production information.
• Support the company's commitment to quality, consistency and customer experience. What We're Looking For The strongest candidates will bring a combination of technical production knowledge, leadership ability, adaptability, and a willingness to work hands-on in a small-company environment. Required or Highly Preferred Experience
• Professional experience in distilling, brewing, beverage production or a closely related manufacturing environment.
• Experience with fermentation and distillation processes.
• Previous supervisory or management experience.
• Experience with production scheduling, inventory management and production planning.
• Strong understanding of quality control and production documentation.
• Strong mechanical aptitude and ability to troubleshoot production equipment.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work independently, prioritize competing demands and follow projects through to completion.
• Strong sensory skills and a passion for producing high-quality spirits and beverages.
• Experience with RTD or canned beverage production is a significant plus.
• Experience with whiskey production and barrel management is a plus.
• Forklift experience is preferred. Formal education in brewing, distilling, fermentation science, food science, chemistry, engineering or a related field is a plus, but relevant professional experience is more important than a specific degree. Most importantly, the Production Manager/Distiller will take ownership of the production operation and proactively identify what needs to be done rather than waiting to be told. Work Environment This is a hands-on manufacturing environment. The position regularly involves working around production equipment and in environments that may be loud, wet, cold or hot, both indoors and outdoors. The position requires the ability to stand and walk for extended periods and safely perform tasks involving reaching, climbing, bending, kneeling and crouching. The ability to occasionally lift and move items weighing 50+ pounds is required. Schedule
