POSITION SUMMARY
The Production Manager leads day-to-day plant execution with responsibility for production performance, schedule attainment, fruit and fumigation readiness, warehouse/material flow, operational inventory control, and rapid coordination of production-related quality issues. This is a floor leadership and execution role that ensures labor, equipment, fruit, packaging, and inventory are used safely, efficiently, and with clear accountability. The Production Manager is expected to know throughout the day what each major line is scheduled to run, what it is actually producing, whether it is meeting target, and what corrective action is underway when it is not, and partners closely with the Planning Manager to ensure the approved schedule is executable and to resolve daily constraints.
PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES 1.
Lead daily execution of the approved production schedule across production areas and shifts. 2. Confirm labor, equipment, fruit, packaging, ingredients, production orders, and quality releases are in place before each line scheduled start time. 3. Ensure lines start on time, run the correct items and lots, follow approved sequence, and complete committed orders with disciplined shift handoffs. 4. Monitor plan versus actual throughout the day; resolve constraints promptly and coordinate schedule adjustments with the Planning Manager before issues become missed orders or customer-service failures. 5. Serve as the primary Operations counterpart to QA for day-to-day production issues, containment, corrective actions, hold priorities, and disposition coordination. 6. Prevent continued production of known defects and ensure recurring quality problems are investigated with the supervisor responsible and QA; manage production-related holds so each significant hold has a defined owner, action, and follow-up. 7. Ensure Production and assigned Warehouse personnel follow Company safety requirements, safe-work procedures, required PPE, GMPs, sanitation practices, food-safety requirements, and operating procedures. 8. Partner with Safety, Quality/Food Safety, Sanitation, and Maintenance to address conditions that could affect associate safety, product integrity, regulatory compliance, or customer requirements. 9. Partner with the Planning Manager to validate schedule feasibility based online capacity, labor, equipment, fruit availability, quality status, materials, and changeovers; translate the approved schedule into plant execution requirements. 10. Develop and maintain the plant fruit plan by variety, grade, lot, quantity, and timing; monitor consumption versus plan and identify shortages, aging or restricted fruit, excess inventory, and other risks early. 11. Coordinate fruit requirements, fumigation priorities, timing, status, and availability with responsible personnel so required fruit is treated, released, staged, and available when needed. 12. Manage performance against approved standards and budget assumptions, including LBS/hour, efficiency, downtime, labor utilization, yield/shrink, schedule attainment, rework, and changeover performance. 13. When performance is below target, determine root cause, assign corrective actions, and follow through until performance is recovered and sustained; reporting the miss alone is not sufficient. 14. Challenge excessive staffing, idle labor, unnecessary overtime, recurring downtime, poor changeovers, and other avoidable capacity losses. 15. Identify and implement measurable improvements in throughput, labor productivity, yield, material flow, rework, and other recurring operating losses; coordinate Maintenance priorities that materially affect the production plan. 16. Direct warehouse execution as it supports production, including staging, internal movement, forklift deployment, and transfer of finished goods. 17. Ensure fruit, packaging, ingredients, bins, pallets, and other materials reach the correct line on time; maintain organized, clearly identified staging and storage areas and prevent aging or partial materials from remaining without a defined next action. 18. Ensure physical material movements are accurately reflected in Microsoft Dynamics NAV / the ERP, including consumption, output, transfers, and production-order activity. 19. Review unusual yield, shrink, quantity, or production-order variances promptly; investigate physical-versus-system discrepancies and correct root causes rather than relying only on adjustments. 20. Coordinate cycle counts and resolution of unidentified or high-variance inventory with Warehouse, Planning, and Finance. 21. Lead, coach, develop, and evaluate Production Supervisors and designated Warehouse leadership; establish clear priorities, staffing expectations, and accountability for their areas. 22. Allocate labor according to the production plan and approved staffing standards; monitor staffing, attendance, overtime, timekeeping, productivity, and coverage, and develop cross-training and backup plans. 23. Maintain strong floor presence and ensure supervisors consistently communicate expectations, address performance deficiencies, and follow through on corrective actions. 24. Run a disciplined daily review of plan, staffing, equipment constraints, materials, open holds, prior-day misses, and critical actions; verify actions are completed on the floor. 25. Provide concise visibility on plan versus actual, downtime, lines below standard, quality holds, inventory issues, incomplete orders, and recovery plans; escalate structural or material risks early with facts and a recommended action. 26. Perform other duties as assigned. 2 Division/Department Operations —
