Onsite Company Overview KRDO13 is a community-focused media organization delivering award-winning journalism across ABC, Telemundo, Radio, and Digital platforms. We are committed to excellence in storytelling, innovation, and serving Southern Colorado communities with integrity and professionalism. Job Summary KRDO News Radio is looking for a dynamic and experienced radio journalist to produce and anchor our live, evening news. This role also requires someone who can simultaneously operate the board during the newscast. The successful candidate must be a team player who can work under the direction of the News Director and Program Director. We are looking for someone passionate about radio and the community and who is dependable and committed to the role. Required Qualifications Prior news/journalism experience Prior board operations and producing experience Solid broadcast writing skills and news judgement Ability to shift schedule and report to the studio for breaking news on short notice Ability to work well with news and sales staff Schedule Expectations This position may require early mornings, evenings, weekends, holidays, overtime, and schedule adjustments based on breaking news, severe weather, station events, or operational needs. Physical & Technical Requirements Ability to sit, stand, walk, bend, and lift equipment as necessary Ability to operate computers, broadcast equipment, cameras, editing systems, and other newsroom technology Ability to work in studio, field, and outdoor environments under varying weather conditions Ability to travel locally for station assignments and community events Work Environment This position is based onsite in Colorado Springs, Colorado, unless otherwise approved by management. Employees may work in high-pressure, deadline-driven environments typical of broadcast news operations.
Compensation Annual Salary:
$42,000.00 Non-Exempt In accordance with Colorado law, the compensation range provided is a good faith estimate of what KRDO13 reasonably expects to pay for this position at the time of posting.
