What you can expect in this role As a Spectrum intern, you'll spend the summer working alongside two teams: your respective department and your intern cohort. Department and team-focused projects account for about 80% of your schedule. You'll spend the other 20% on internship experiences that include a kickoff conference, professional development sessions and networking activities, webinars, community service, cross-functional projects, and final presentations. The Human Resources Intern will support the Spectrum News HR team, serving as a strategic partner to newsroom leaders and a key liaison across recruiting, finance, payroll, and development. This internship offers hands-on experience supporting a variety of HR initiatives that impact the entire employee lifecycle. Assist with onboarding and orientation activities for new hires, support learning & development initiatives, compile HR metrics and prepare reports using MS Office tools, research industry trends and best practices, provide administrative support for the HR team and assist with special projects.
