We work closely with our clients to deliver reliable, high-quality event experiences through strong planning, technical execution, and on-site coordination. We are looking for an experienced, organized, and hands-on Production Manager to oversee the planning and execution of audiovisual productions from pre-production through event completion. This is not a desk-only position. The Production Manager will spend a significant amount of time traveling to event locations and working on-site during live events. When there are no scheduled events, site visits, or other field requirements, the Production Manager will work from the office. Position Overview The Production Manager is responsible for coordinating and overseeing the operational and technical execution of assigned events. This role serves as a key connection between clients, internal teams, AV technicians, venues, and vendors to ensure every production is properly planned, staffed, equipped, installed, executed, and completed successfully. The ideal candidate has strong live event and audiovisual production experience, is comfortable leading crews in fast-paced environments, and can quickly solve problems when circumstances change on-site. Key Responsibilities Manage assigned events from pre-production planning through setup, live execution, strike, and load-out. Review event scope, technical requirements, schedules, equipment needs, staffing, and venue logistics. Schedule and assign AV technicians and production crews based on event requirements, availability, and technical expertise. Coordinate technician call times, work schedules, event locations, responsibilities, and any necessary schedule changes. Conduct site visits and coordinate venue requirements, including access, power, internet, loading, room layouts, and other production needs. Lead and coordinate AV technicians, production crews, freelancers, and vendors during event setup and execution. Ensure AV equipment and systems are properly prepared, installed, tested, and ready before each event. Serve as the on-site production lead, overseeing the crew, event timeline, technical execution, and overall production. Monitor live productions, troubleshoot technical or operational issues, and manage last-minute changes effectively. Maintain clear communication with clients, venues, Account Managers, technicians, vendors, and internal teams throughout the production process. Coordinate equipment, transportation, staffing, and other production logistics to ensure events remain on schedule and meet Prime Line AV's quality, safety, and service standards. Provide post-event feedback, report equipment or production issues, and identify opportunities to improve future events. When not assigned to an event or site visit, work from the Prime Line AV office to prepare upcoming productions, schedule technicians, coordinate logistics, and support day-to-day production operations. Qualifications 3+ years of experience in live event production, audiovisual production, event operations, or production management preferred. Strong working knowledge of professional AV equipment, systems, and live event production workflows. Experience scheduling, assigning, and coordinating AV technicians, production crews, freelancers, and vendors. Working knowledge of audio, video, lighting, staging, projection/displays, and related event technology. Strong organizational and planning skills with the ability to manage multiple events, schedules, crews, and priorities. Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills, especially in fast-paced live event environments. Excellent communication and leadership skills with the ability to work effectively with clients, venues, technicians, vendors, and internal teams. Comfortable working on-site at event venues for extended periods and actively overseeing event setup, execution, and breakdown. Ability and willingness to travel to event locations as required, including occasional overnight travel. Must have a flexible schedule and be available to work early mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays based on event schedules. Ability to remain calm, professional, and decisive when handling last-minute changes or production issues. Ability to perform the physical requirements of event production, including extended periods of standing and walking and assisting with equipment or setup when needed.
