The award-winning WAND Newsroom is looking for a self-motivated Weekend Evening Anchor/Producer. This role requires strong news judgment, independent decision-making, and proven leadership to produce and anchor compelling, accurate newscasts from start to finish. Must have the skills to lead the news team and work with other departments. Duties/Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:- Anchor and produce weekend evening newscasts with authority and strong on-air presence.
- Write, edit, and proofread scripts to ensure accuracy and a conversational tone.
- Shoot, write, edit, and report stories that are impactful to the community
- Work with weekend team members in multiple departments to execute coverage and newscasts.
- Pitch, research, and report original enterprise stories for special segments and stories.
- Drive viewer engagement by sharing news and behind-the-scenes content on social media.
Qualifications:
- 2 to 3 years of newsroom experience necessary; candidates will stand out if they have anchoring experience or fill in regularly
