Job Description

Overview:

The Powder Coat Manager-1st Shift manages the Machine Operation and Powder Coat Painting departments of Daifuku Conveyors, focusing on improvement of overall material flow and timely delivery to internal and external customers.
Responsibilities:
Manages the Machine Operation and Powder Coat Painting departments, including recruiting, selecting, orienting, training, assigning, scheduling, coaching, counseling, and disciplining employees; communicating job expectations; planning, monitoring, appraising, and reviewing job contributions; planning and reviewing compensation actions; enforcing policies and procedures Leads the team in department operations; ensures delivery is on time and on budget and quality and safety standards are met Analyzes demand across business units and reconciles with manufacturing capacity and constraints Works with Operations, Project Management, and Customer Service to coordinate capacity and throughput with customer demand and meet daily, weekly, and monthly sales targets Develops and implements work flow plans and production schedules; recommends improvements to processes, communication, and reporting Uses computer tools to analyze and improve work flow, order fulfillment, and response time; develops work schedules to deliver just-in-time components and information Applies Lean manufacturing practices to improve productivity and reduce waste Works with the Project Execution team, Customer Service, and Wynparts to develop demand, lead-time and production status reports; provides department metrics to the monthly Operations Scorecard Supports continuous improvement, engaging team members to identify and analyze waste and improve rapid response and flexibility; documents actions and results
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Materials Management or equivalent experience Minimum of 5 years of manufacturing management Excellent management skills for directing, coaching, scheduling, and assisting team members Knowledge of production, inventory control, forecasting, and projection principles Knowledge of budgeting and expense management Computer skills including MS Office Strategic thinking and problem-solving skills Excellent verbal and written communication skills Self-motivated and detail oriented Ability to multi-task while maintaining attention to detail and deadlines Ability to read and write in the English Language Team-oriented and collaborative
