Full-Time Position Overview A leading precast concrete manufacturer is seeking an experienced Production Manager to oversee day-to-day production operations at its Rochester, MA facility. This position is responsible for leading production personnel, coordinating schedules and priorities, maintaining high standards for safety and quality, and driving continuous improvements in plant efficiency and productivity. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in precast concrete manufacturing and demonstrated experience successfully managing production teams in a plant environment. Relocation assistance is available for qualified candidates. Key Responsibilities Lead and supervise a production team of approximately 6-12 employees. Coordinate production schedules, priorities, staffing, and workflow. Train, mentor, and develop production personnel while evaluating performance and skill levels. Promote a safe, productive, and quality-focused work environment. Enforce company safety policies, procedures, and housekeeping standards. Monitor and improve production efficiencies while controlling costs. Implement and maintain product quality-control processes and standards. Track production metrics and ensure deadlines and quality expectations are consistently met. Work closely with operations management and other supervisors to coordinate departmental schedules and resources. Identify opportunities for continuous improvement in manufacturing processes. Determine training and development needs within the production team. Maintain appropriate records related to production activities, employee performance, attendance, and training. Encourage employee engagement and create an environment where ideas and improvements are valued. Stay current with industry education and training, includingNPCA/PQS
programs. Qualifications 5+ years of experience in precast concrete production/manufacturing. Proven experience successfully leading a precast concrete production operation or plant. Strong knowledge of quality systems, production processes, and industry standards. Knowledge of workplace health and safety requirements. Familiarity with manufacturing machinery, tools, and equipment. ACI Concrete Field Testing Grade 1 certification is preferred. Ability to read blueprints and sketches and follow written and verbal instructions. Strong problem-solving, critical-thinking, and decision-making abilities. Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills. Ability to motivate, mentor, and develop production employees. Working knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel. Strong organizational and time-management skills. Ability to remain focused and effective in a fast-paced production environment. Valid driver's license. Supervisory Responsibilities Direct supervision of production personnel. Employee training, development, performance management, and workforce coordination. Work Environment & Physical Requirements Combination of indoor precast manufacturing and outdoor yard environments. Exposure to varying weather conditions in the outdoor yard. Ability to stand, walk, climb, balance, stoop, lift, and handle materials. Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds. Regular interaction with production equipment, materials, and plant operations.
