Full Job Description Job Overview We are seeking a dynamic and results-driven Production Operations Manager or General Manager who is a battle-tested manufacturing leader with deep aerospace or high-precision regulated industry experience—ideally someone who can move a flexible, high-variability job shop (one-off/custom work) into repeatable, certifiable aerospace production. Skills Process standardization in a variable environment: Ability to document repeatable setups, fixtures, and work instructions while preserving machinist ingenuity for one-off tweaks or complex aerospace parts.

Quality and compliance leadership:

They will own or heavily support AS9100 certification/audits, GD&T enforcement, inspection protocols, and FOD/tool control programs.

Cross-functional orchestration:

Daily collaboration with engineering (for producibility/DFM), quality, supply chain, and program management. They must speak both "shop floor" and "executive" languages.

Metrics-driven continuous improvement:

Implement visual management, value-stream mapping, and cost-reduction initiatives while hitting aerospace-level safety, quality, and delivery targets.

Team development:

Hire/train/mentor machinists, programmers, and supervisors; shift culture from reactive firefighting to proactive prevention. Qualifications 7-10+ years total in machine shop operations, with

•at least 2-6 years in formal leadership (supervisor/manager level) specifically in aerospace (or very similar: defense, medical devices, or other FAA/NADCAP-regulated environments). Hands-on CNC machining knowledge (multi-axis mills/lathes, CAM programming, setup optimization) . Proven success implementing or maturing AS9100, including configuration management, risk-based thinking, counterfeit parts prevention, and full material/ process traceability. Experience scaling or transforming a high-mix, low-to-medium volume shop. Proven track record with ERP/MRP systems, KPI dashboards (OEE, on-time delivery, first-pass yield, cost per part), root-cause tools (8D, 5-Why, error-proofing), and lean/Six Sigma.
