Job Description

LINE PRODUCER
for a two-day, black-and-white period short film shoot. This is a single-scene proof-of-concept from an original 1952 Toledo noir script. Total production budget is $10,000
  • 12,000 all-in.
Shooting in the Toledo/Detroit region inclusive of all crew rates and the line producer fee. —
Location:
Find and lock the primary location, which ideally is a period-convincing storefront and interior where the view out a plate-glass window reads as 1950s. —
Crew:
Hire and book key crew: DP (selected jointly), 1st AD, 1st AC, gaffer and grips, production designer/set dresser, props, wardrobe, HMU, sound mixer. — Picture vehicles: Source and coordinate up to five period-correct cars (1948-1952) with owners/drivers, including staging on the day. We expect these sourced through car clubs, museums, and owner relationships for perks and screen credit, not retail rental rates. —
Design:
Coordinate period set dressing, props, and wardrobe for a small cast. —
Paper:
Production insurance (short-term producer's package), location agreements, and city permits. —
Budget:
Build and manage the full production budget within the $10,000-12,000 total, milestone-tracked, with cost reporting to the director.
Paid in milestones:
a portion on hire/prep start, a portion when location and key crew are locked, remainder on wrap. Covers prep and a two-day shoot in the Toledo/Detroit region, late fall/winter. Exact dates firm up as part of the job. —

Requirements:
At least two scripted narrative credits as producer or line producer (not PA or coordinator roles), references we can call, and familiarity with Michigan/Ohio crew and vendors.
