Job Summary The Assistant Section Manager is responsible for overseeing supply chain operations, inventory management, supplier performance, ERP system administration, and team development within a manufacturing environment. This role ensures operational efficiency, maintains inventory accuracy, supports production requirements, and drives continuous improvement initiatives while leading and developing administrative and supervisory staff.. Leadership & Team Development Enforce company policies, business plans, and budget objectives. Supervise, mentor, and provide training and development opportunities for Administrators and Assistant Section Managers. Ensure Associate Relations responsibilities are effectively managed, including timekeeping, disciplinary actions, performance management, and section meetings. Foster a positive work environment focused on employee engagement, accountability, and continuous improvement. Balance departmental workloads to ensure operational efficiency and achievement of business objectives. Supply Chain & Supplier Management Manage overall supply chain operations, including forecasting, release planning, and supplier schedule accuracy. Monitor and improve supplier delivery performance to support production requirements and customer commitments. Coordinate timely support for new model launches, production changes, and facility build-out activities. Inventory & ERP Management Oversee all inventory control activities, including cycle counts, physical inventories, month-end inventory reconciliation, variance investigation, and corrective actions. Manage company ERP (QAD) system processes, including system optimization, auto-ordering functions, and process compliance. Ensure accurate maintenance of production planning and control (PPC) data, including Design Change Database updates and records management. Problem Solving & Continuous Improvement Analyze operational data and identify opportunities to improve inventory accuracy, supplier performance, and process efficiency. Troubleshoot inventory discrepancies, supply chain issues, and system-related concerns. Support continuous improvement initiatives that enhance productivity, quality, and cost performance. Qualifications Required Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in a manufacturing environment utilizing an ERP system. Strong understanding of supply chain management, inventory control, forecasting, and supplier relations. Demonstrated leadership experience with the ability to develop and motivate employees. Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills. Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet strict deadlines in a fast-paced environment. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including Excel, Word, and Outlook. Preferred Bachelor's degree in Business, Supply Chain Management, Operations Management, or a related field. Experience with QAD ERP systems. Knowledge of manufacturing inventory control processes and continuous improvement methodologies. Physical Requirements Regularly required to sit, stand, walk, bend, reach, and use hands and fingers to operate a computer and office equipment. Frequently required to communicate effectively with employees, suppliers, and management in person, by phone, and electronically. Ability to occasionally move throughout manufacturing and warehouse environments. May occasionally be required to lift and/or move items up to 25 pounds. Must be able to view and analyze data on computer screens for extended periods. Ability to travel within the facility and to supplier or company locations as business needs require. Must be able to perform the essential functions of the position with or without reasonable accommodation.
