The Canon Theatre is looking for a reliable, detail-oriented Concessions Manager to oversee our concessions operation during performances and events. This is a part-time, as-needed position ideal for someone who enjoys a fast-paced environment, has strong organizational skills, and can lead a small team of volunteers on show nights.

About Canon Theatre Canon Theatre is a new performing arts venue launching with exceptional momentum through the efforts of the Canonsburg Educational and Cultural Institute (CECI). Under the guidance of an engaged Board of Directors and supported by significant financial resources and an enthusiastic community, the completely renovated theatre is slated to open this fall. The new venue will feature 560-plus seats for guests, a state-of-the-art sound and production system, a bar and concession area for enhanced guest experience, and updated backstage and dressing room facilities for performers. Located in a growing and economically vibrant area, the Canon Theatre is positioned for long-term success, community growth, and cultural engagement. Responsibilities Oversee all concessions operations before, during intermission, and after performances and other events Open and close the concessions stand, including cash handling and end-of-night reconciliation Maintain accurate inventory: track stock levels, place/receive orders, and minimize waste and shrinkage Conduct regular inventory counts and maintain organized storage areas Recruit, train, and schedule concessions staff and volunteers Ensure staff follow proper food/beverage handling, sanitation, and safety procedures Serve and sell alcoholic beverages in compliance with state and venue policies Monitor for and prevent service to intoxicated or underage patrons, in accordance with RAMP guidelines Ensure compliance with health department and liquor licensing regulations Handle customer service issues and resolve guest concerns promptly and professionally, upholding CECI's standard of hospitality Maintain cleanliness and organization of all concessions areas and equipment Set up and break down concessions stands, displays, and equipment Communicate with Canon Theatre management regarding supply needs, staffing, and event logistics Manage vendor relationships and place supply orders within budget Pick up product orders and supplies from vendors or stores as needed, using personal or provided transportation Track nightly sales figures and prepare basic revenue/reconciliation reports for management Monitor concessions budget and flag discrepancies or cost overruns Coordinate with box office and front-of-house staff to align concessions service with show schedules and intermission timing Ensure all concessions equipment (POS systems, popcorn machines, refrigeration, etc.) is properly maintained and report malfunctions promptly Assist with seasonal or show-specific menu planning and special promotions Maintain readiness for health inspections and ensure all certifications/postings are current Ensure concessions areas meet ADA accessibility standards for guest service Prepare and submit end-of-shift and end-of-run inventory/waste reports Qualificationns RAMP certification required (Responsible Alcohol Management Program), or willingness to obtain before start date Minimum 2+ years of experience in concessions, food/beverage service, retail, or hospitality Minimum 1+ year of supervisory, training, or team-lead experience Demonstrated experience with inventory management, ordering, and vendor coordination Proven track record of cash-handling accuracy and end-of-shift reconciliation Valid driver's license and reliable transportation for occasional product pickups Strong cash-handling and basic math skills Ability to lift up to 25 lbs. and stand for extended periods Excellent communication and customer service skills Reliable and available for evening/weekend shifts on an as-needed basis Must 21+ Food handler's card/certification a plus (or willingness to obtain) What We Offer Competitive pay, up to $20/hour Flexible, as-needed scheduling that fits around other commitments A fun, fast-paced environment working alongside a close-knit theatre team Opportunities to grow within CECI Canon Theatre is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
