This is a key leadership position at an exciting stage in the company's development. Outerlimits is relocating its manufacturing operation to a new facility and has significant investment plans focused on new models, tooling, production capabilities, and manufacturing processes . The Production Manager will be responsible for transforming these investments into a more efficient, consistent, scalable, and competitive manufacturing operation while preserving the craftsmanship and performance standards that have defined the Outerlimits brand. The ideal candidate is an experienced manufacturing professional who combines strong operational discipline with practical shop-floor experience . Experience managing teams involved in fiberglass/composite manufacturing as well as mechanical, electrical, hydraulic and other complex boat or vehicle subassemblies is highly desirable. This person will lead a team of approximately 20 employees initially , with the organization expected to grow as production volumes and investments increase. Key Responsibilities Manufacturing Operations Lead and manage all day-to-day manufacturing activities at the Outerlimits production facility. Establish and maintain production schedules, priorities, workflows and performance standards. Improve manufacturing efficiency, productivity and labor utilization. Develop standardized manufacturing processes and work instructions. Identify production bottlenecks, inefficiencies and recurring problems and implement corrective actions. Establish appropriate production KPIs and continuously monitor performance. Balance production requirements with quality, delivery schedules, available resources and customer commitments. Maintain a hands-on presence on the factory floor and work closely with employees to resolve operational issues. Quality & Manufacturing Consistency Establish a culture of quality, accountability and continuous improvement . Improve consistency and repeatability across the manufacturing process. Establish quality-control procedures at critical stages of production. Identify root causes of quality problems and implement permanent corrective actions. Reduce rework, scrap, production delays and warranty-related issues. Ensure that boats are manufactured according to engineering specifications, approved designs and Outerlimits quality standards. Develop appropriate documentation and quality checkpoints as the company scales. Supply Chain & Purchasing Manage the overall supply chain supporting manufacturing operations. Coordinate purchasing, material planning, inventory levels and supplier relationships. Ensure critical components and raw materials are available when required for production. Develop appropriate inventory-control practices without unnecessarily increasing working capital. Work with suppliers to improve cost, quality, delivery and reliability. Identify alternative suppliers and opportunities to improve the company's supply-chain resilience. Coordinate closely with management regarding purchasing requirements, cash flow considerations and production priorities. New Facility & Capital Investment Take a leadership role in the transition to the company's new manufacturing facility. Help design the factory layout, production flow, workstations, material storage and inventory organization. Participate in the implementation of new equipment, tooling and manufacturing technologies. Develop processes capable of supporting increased production volumes as the company grows. Work closely with management and engineering resources on the implementation of new models and tooling. Ensure that capital investments translate into measurable improvements in productivity, quality and capacity. New Models, Tooling & Product Development Work closely with management, engineering and design resources during the development and launch of new models. Provide manufacturing input into product design, tooling and production processes. Identify opportunities for Design for Manufacturing (DFM) improvements. Develop production processes and documentation for new products before they enter full production. Ensure that new tooling and processes are properly validated before production use. Help establish realistic production times, labor requirements and manufacturing costs for new models. Team Leadership & Talent Development Lead, motivate and develop a team of approximately 20 manufacturing employees. Establish clear responsibilities, expectations and performance standards. Build an environment that combines the experience and craftsmanship of the existing team with modern manufacturing discipline. Preserve valuable institutional knowledge while introducing improved processes and accountability. Identify, recruit and develop young manufacturing talent to support the company's future growth. Develop training programs and cross-training opportunities. Identify future supervisors and manufacturing leaders within the organization. Maintain a healthy balance between experienced craftsmen and new talent. Foster a culture where employees are encouraged to identify problems and propose improvements. Ideal Candidate Profile We are looking for an experienced manufacturing leader who is comfortable operating in a hands-on, entrepreneurial environment .

The ideal candidate will have:

7+ years of progressive manufacturing experience , including meaningful supervisory or management responsibility. Proven experience managing manufacturing teams and production operations. Experience in boat manufacturing, composite/fiberglass manufacturing, marine products, automotive, aerospace, motorsports, recreational vehicles or another complex manufacturing environment . Practical understanding of manufacturing processes involving: Fiberglass/composites Mechanical assemblies Electrical systems Hydraulic systems Plumbing and fluid systems Structural assemblies Complex subassemblies Demonstrated experience improving production efficiency and manufacturing processes. Strong understanding of production planning, scheduling and inventory management. Experience working with suppliers and managing purchasing activities. Strong problem-solving and root-cause-analysis capabilities. Ability to read and understand engineering drawings, specifications and technical documentation. Strong organizational and project-management skills. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to work effectively with both experienced craftsmen and younger employees entering the industry. Strong leadership presence with the ability to gain credibility on the factory floor. Education A bachelor's degree in Engineering, Manufacturing, Operations, Business Administration or a related field is strongly preferred . Relevant technical education combined with substantial hands-on manufacturing experience will also be considered. An engineering background, particularly in mechanical, manufacturing, industrial, marine or electrical engineering , is highly valued.
