PRODUCTION MANAGER

The Manufacturing Production Manager is accountable for effectively leading and managing cross functional teams in manufacturing operations to consistently deliver desired results. This position operates as the subject matter expert and escalation point to resolve issues and is accountable for continuously looking for improvements in operational processes and designs, implementing those initiatives relative to quality, cost, delivery and timing results. This role optimizes the contribution of the team through coaching, training and counseling and implements workable solutions to business issues with minimum referral to management. This role conducts work planning, scheduling, and prioritization to optimize performance of team and works to define standards and reusable approaches for operations. This position reports directly to the President/CEO. Key Responsibilities Production & Scheduling Plan and manage daily, weekly, and monthly production schedules to meet customer delivery commitments. Balance labor, equipment, and material availability to optimize throughput and on-time delivery (OTD). Monitor production performance and adjust priorities as needed to support expediting and customer changes. People Leadership Lead, coach, and develop production supervisors, leads, and operators. Establish staffing plans, manage overtime, and support hiring and training initiatives. Foster a culture of accountability, safety, teamwork, and continuous improvement. Quality & Compliance Ensure all assemblies meet IPC standards (e.g., IPC-A-610) and customer quality requirements. Partner with Quality to address nonconformances, corrective actions (CAPA), and customer returns. Maintain compliance with ISO 900, ESD, and safety requirements. Process & Continuous Improvement Drive Lean manufacturing, Kaizen, and waste-reduction initiatives. Improve first-pass yield, labor efficiency, and equipment utilization. Support implementation of new processes, equipment, and automation. Metrics & Reporting Track and report KPIs such as OTD, yield, labor efficiency, scrap, rework, and throughput. Use data to identify trends, root causes, and improvement opportunities. Participate in management reviews and operational planning meetings. Required Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Manufacturing, Engineering, Operations Management, or related field (or equivalent experience). 7+ years of experience in electronics contract manufacturing and circuit board assembly, with at least 5 years in a Leadership Role. Strong understanding of PCBA processes including SMT, through-hole, hand assembly, inspection, and test. Working knowledge of IPC standards, ESD control, and quality systems. Experience with MRP/ERP systems and production scheduling tools. Preferred Qualifications Experience in a high-mix, low-to-medium volume contract manufacturing environment. Lean Manufacturing or Six Sigma training. Familiarity with regulated industries (medical, aerospace, defense, industrial). Experience managing NPIs and ramping new products into production.
