This position will be responsible for both creating documents from initial direction or source materials and reviewing, proofreading, editing, and redlining existing materials. Documents may include contracts, scopes of work, proposals, business plans, partnership documents, internal policies, presentations, executive communications, and other professional business materials. We are looking for someone who can take an idea, set of notes, business terms, or an existing draft and develop it into a polished, articulate, professional final product. This person must have an outstanding command of the English language, exceptional attention to detail, strong business judgment, and the ability to understand complex concepts and communicate them clearly. The ideal candidate will also be highly proficient with AI tools and modern productivity software, using them intelligently to accelerate research, drafting, editing, document comparison, and quality control without sacrificing accuracy or professional judgment.
Responsibilities:
Draft and create contracts, agreements, scopes of work, proposals, business plans, policies, presentations, and other business documents based on company direction, notes, templates, or existing materials Transform rough concepts, bullet points, meeting notes, or business terms into organized and professionally written documents Proofread and edit contracts, agreements, scopes of work, proposals, business plans, and other company materials Redline documents and clearly identify recommended revisions Use AI tools effectively to improve drafting speed, research, organization, editing, and overall workflow efficiency Review and independently verify AI-generated content for accuracy, consistency, tone, and completeness Develop effective AI prompts and workflows to efficiently produce high-quality drafts while maintaining human oversight Correct grammar, spelling, punctuation, sentence structure, and syntax Improve clarity, organization, tone, readability, and professionalism Identify inconsistencies, contradictions, missing information, unclear terminology, and potential areas of confusion Review documents for consistency in terminology, formatting, defined terms, numbers, dates, percentages, and references Compare revised documents against prior versions and confirm that requested changes have been properly incorporated Strengthen business language while preserving intended meaning and commercial terms Ensure documents maintain a consistent company voice and professional standard Review final versions before they are sent to clients, partners, attorneys, investors, or other third parties Communicate questions or concerns clearly when information appears incomplete, inconsistent, or requires clarification Manage multiple document creation and review assignments while maintaining a high level of accuracy Continuously identify ways to use technology and AI to make document-development processes faster and more efficient Required Qualifications Bachelor's degree in English, Writing, Communications, Journalism, Professional Writing, Technical Writing, or another writing-intensive field required Exceptional written English and command of grammar Demonstrated ability to create professional business documents from limited direction, notes, or source materials Strong editing, proofreading, drafting, and written communication skills Strong proficiency with AI tools such as ChatGPT or comparable generative AI platforms Ability to use AI as a productivity tool while exercising independent judgment and performing thorough quality control Extremely meticulous and detail-oriented Strong critical-thinking and analytical abilities Ability to understand complex business concepts and communicate them clearly Ability to identify subtle inconsistencies that may be overlooked during an ordinary proofreading process Comfortable reviewing contracts and sophisticated business documents Ability to work independently and take ownership of both the drafting process and quality of the final deliverable Excellent organizational and time-management skills High degree of reliability and accountability Proficiency with Microsoft Word, including Track Changes, comments, document comparison, and redlining Preferred Experience Previous experience in one or more of the following areas is strongly preferred: Business document creation and drafting Legal or contract proofreading Business or corporate editing Proposal writing or editing Technical writing Professional writing Consulting or corporate communications AI-assisted writing, research, or document-development workflows Reviewing or developing agreements, scopes of work, business plans, proposals, or investment materials A law degree is not required, as this position is focused on document creation, quality, writing, consistency, and business communication rather than providing legal advice. What We Are Looking For This is not a position for someone who simply runs documents through spell-check or copies information into an AI platform. We need someone who is intelligent, articulate, highly analytical, technologically proficient, and exceptionally meticulous. The right person should be capable of taking an idea and turning it into a professional document while also naturally noticing when a sentence does not make sense, when two sections conflict, when terminology changes halfway through a document, when a number does not match, or when language could create ambiguity. We want someone who understands how to use AI as a force multiplier. They should be capable of using technology to work faster and more efficiently while recognizing that AI does not replace careful review, critical thinking, sound judgment, or accountability for the final product. Most importantly, we are looking for someone we can depend on to take ownership of an assignment and deliver a finished product every time. Whether starting from a rough set of notes or conducting the final review of an important agreement, this individual should be able to return a document that is complete, polished, consistent, professional, and ready to be sent. The standard for this position is simple: every assignment should result in a final product that is clearer, stronger, more professional, and ready for use.Pay:
